Nibbs advice needed...

I have a run scheduled tonight per oly plan, however I have already met my run goal this month--which is also following the plan, I've just run longer a few times.  Do I

  1) do it anyway cause I need to follow my training plan

2) do a shorter run to follow the intention of 2 a days but shorten it since I've gone long and it's 95 degrees

3) skip it altogether cause I'm tired?

I'm have two ways of thinkin' about it...

Listen to your body and take #3...
OR  do the shorter run to help re-energize and keep challenging your body.

Unless.... you really think your body needs a rest and it's not just your mind playing with ya... (I get that a lot, just can't push mysefl when I really know I could do it)

THanks!  I'm thinking it MIGHT be really short since I'm racing Sunday...either that or switch it up for a ride and run tomorrow??   Ack...too many choices!

HI Nibbs...

Went back a few pages... found Kristen's 3Kp... nice job... it's like Dr Suess "Oh the Place You Will Go" one of them beign BT

I had great aspirations for today... which lead me to taking naps this morning while lying in bed (oh I did clean out the back of my car form last night and do one load of laundry - minus folding)

I didn't come in until late being as that I'm working late and trying to take time off of work (to clean house in prep for mom, ha!!)

Went with Amy (well, she was there and rode back with)  to an OWS clinic last night.  I am so glad I went even though it was very last minute.  Now my hip is bothering me a little

Well, it's 5pm and I'm at work, I've gotten a few things accomplished, but really need to do more.

 LATER GANG!!!

I just had a look at your logs - you have not just had a full on training week this weeek (congratulations) you are also due for a rest day so if you are really tired and dont feel like running you are not going to hurt yourself taking this one out.

Thanks, Cat.  I needed permission to listen to my body and sit one out.  Course that means I need to do laundry--have to get th coffee out of the pants where I spilled it today...

enders_shadow - 2008-06-26 11:58 PM Ode to my 3000th Post I now write my 3000th post, in the hallowed threads of BT. I am usually not one to boast, but thank you all for making a new me. Before I came to this awesome site, I was a bit of a roly-poly - 3000 posts, a half mary, 5 sprints & a du later, now I'm going to sign up for an Oly. A short year and a half ago, I couldn't swim and on the bike -- well, I couldn't ride more than 10 miles and no hills, the run was the only sport I liked. Now, today - I can swim a mile and I can bike, even up hill, with power - Running, I'm better at...thanks to Z2, and I'm thinking of running 12 hours. Wow! That's amazing - Well, I try to impress, But more important is this -- how I made this progress. One thing is certain - It takes hard work, true... But I owe much to this website. Advice, support, and HTFU. I've had two great mentors, Even if I didn't pay attention... and random advisors and friends - Too many to mention. I live for the challenges, They get me up and out the door... I live for inspires, which do all that and more. THANK YOU TO ALL MY FRIENDS ON BT!

This is so awesome i thought it deserved a second time around... just in case someone missed it!

Enjoy them while they last. (Which is at least until I get back from my ride and have something good to say.)

Hm. I got here too late. They're all gone now.

Umm sounds like fun!!! Yeah sometimes a session off is also a good thing because you need to deal with 'life' and if that gets out of control it takes away some of the enjoyment of training!

You have my permission anyway... (just dont look at how much training I have done this month! It might make you think twice about accepting my advice)

That would be an appropriate avatar for July!

Especially since I got given it in May last year when I was fastest girl in a stationary bike TT in an event we held for work... an event for the Tour De France...

It just makes sense really!

Artemis - 2008-06-26 11:49 AM

I got a reading assignment from one of my committee members for my written exams. One is a 12 page review article on Epigenetics and Cancer published in 2008. The other is a 268 page book on Evolutionary Biology published in 1957.

Time to find the first item: less than 5 minutes (including printing)

Time to find second: about 1.5 hours

Thankfully I found the second at the medical library and it wasn't checked out. I have it until January 6, 2009.

1957?
