Great race. I envy your speed on the bike and run I could only dream of going that fast on either. Sucks being old , fat and slowCry.  I am tapering for this weekends race. Short Brick today swim tom. and short run wed. short slow bike thurs off Fri. race Sat. Really looking forward to the race camping again so the whole family will be hanging out. Still have real sore calf's from my long run Sat but really only bother me after I sit or go down steps hope to work some soreness out today and tomorrow.

cmgonzalez - 2009-06-08 3:41 PM I DID IT! And it felt AWESOME.

I just checked the online results and realized that I was only two minutes off the 3rd place female finisher for my age group, and, I placed second for the Athena division.  Guess I should've stuck around for the trophies!!

It was so much fun, I will definitely do it again...

AWESOME!!!!! way to go girl, you have certainly motivated me!  Great race - and you PLACED!!!!!!! sooo cool.

Packing the camper and then were off, I am sure there is no internet this lake is in the boonies really pretty though. I will let you know how it goes Sunday when I get back, Super pumped just hoping to finish in about the same time as first tri because this one has a tougher bike ride.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I felt really good today no soreness or anything and considering I have vacation coming up and plan on doing 4 more races I thought I would just jump back in to training.run and bike today swim and bike or run tomorrow, need to get all I can in, going to England July 9th have a sprint the 19th over there and I feel sure I will probably not get much training in after that til I come back the 30th, but looking forward to the trip.

Way to hop back into it.  Shorter recovery periods are a good sign your overall fitness is improving

Sure is, isn't it?  I think we're only down to a few regulars these days.

Sorry, you guys. I have been traveling EXTENSIVELY as well as juggling some intense work and personal stuff. On the bright side, next week I will be in another city with lots of downtime and a few great running spots. So I'll be more active then. My big, giant 10K is next week, too.

Hey, we all get busy.  Especially so in the summer months.  The good news is you are taking strides to stay active.  I hope you get to enjoy your downtime.  And a 10k next week?  Exciting!

Hi guys.  I just finished watching the Hy-Vee ITU cup in Des Moines this afternoon.  It was really cool to see in person.  And, man are those pros crazy fast or what.

Tomorrow I will be doing the age group event which is an Olympic distance event.  The field is huge.  I think they said something around 2000 competitors.  I won't be anywhere close to the podium, but I'm hopeful to PR.  I'll let you all know how it goes.

Hello team,

Been slow this week in terms of training. I was away to a business conference Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The schedule was pretty packed and could not fit anything except shopping for triathlon cycling shoes. I know what I want, now I just have to order them.

This weekend was also our annual taekwondo weekend. We rent a cottage (a big one) and have tons of activity. I did my first OWS this morning while at the cottage. I managed to put my full lenght wetsuit. It is still a little tight, but I could get in and swam around 1km. When I bought it many years ago I probably had 15 pounds less. Plan on loosing these pounds in the next months.

I also ran 15km just before dinner.
