Just curious how tall bob is, he looks short 5- 6"ish.

I would estimate that he's probably around 5'11" or so.  I'm 5'4" and he was definitely a lot taller than me, then again, most people are. Wink   He also had a few inches on Shay who is 5'8" according to her Biggest Loser bio on the NBC website.

Very cool....hope you got a picture.

Even cooler was you impressed him...with your throwing up.

I have a question for the group...how do you all deal with keeping your munchies at bay?  This is a major weakness of mine.  I often get a headache when I'm hungry, and then I overeat to compensate, trying to get rid of the headache.  It gets really bad at bedtime because I can't sleep when I get to that point.  Any tricks you've found successful you can share?

Like a ninny, I forgot my camera. Since Crunch is only about 30 miles away, I thought I might look into seeing what they would charge for a non-member to come in and take the class.  It would be fun to go up on a Saturday morning every now and again to take his class.  He teaches a spin class there every Saturday unless he's out of town.

I wonder how much time he and Jillian actually spend on the Ranch with the biggest loser folks.

I have found the trick! Well, kind of.  My dentist has been on me to get Invisalign to fix something very minor, but necessary with my teeth for two years now.  I broke down, and finally got it.  It's been 5 weeks now.  It's impossible to eat with them in my mouth.  I can't bite or chew with them in.  So, I take them out to eat.  Well, I have to brush AND floss after each time I eat now before I put them in.  I can't even tell you how much white my teeth re also because of this brushing/flossing 3x per day  process!   It's truly is a pain in the butt to snack.  I could do it, but it's really more hassle than it's worth.  So, a good trick may be to force yourself to brush/floss after each time you eat.  It sounds odd, but I haven't snacked in 5 weeks, and my teeth look amazing!

From what Shay said, I got the impression they were there quite a bit, especially during the week.  My guess is they aren't there as much on the weekends, but that's just an assumption on my part.   Jillian has been tweeting quite a bit over the past 2 weeks about being on the ranch and working out with the new Season 9 cast that started filming earlier this month.

When I was talking with Shay yesterday, she did mention they have other off-camera trainers as well.  The girlfriend of one of them came to the class yesterday and Shay introduced me to her.  She and Shay seemed to know one another pretty well, so I figure she (the girlfriend) must have been on the set with him.

I was checking my Facebook page a little bit earlier.  Bob actually posted on my wall and apologized for making me puke.  LOL

You may have to eat more frequently, I eat 3 small meals a day and 3 small snacks, if I forget then my hunger go's ballistic and I might overeat. Eating more frenquently keeps hunger at bay. If you eat a meal and are still hungry eat, yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, salad etc.

Have to share...I finished my first Half Marathon today.  In fact my first ever running only race!  Probably would have been a good idea to run a shorter race first but I figured why not go big.  Goal time was 2:20 and finished in about 2:18, garmin time, no official results yet.  I also hit my original goal weight set back in March of 2008 on Saturday of 175.  Not sure it will hold up as I pigged out today but I don't really care, I was hungry.  Race went great and I negative split by about 6 minutes and passed a bunch of people during the last 6 miles which was a pretty awesome feeling.

Since I  can't eat whenever I want due to my Invisalign, I've started having Muscle Milk Light drinks as my in-between meal snacks.  They're packed with protein, have no sugar added, and actually are very good and filling.  I prefer to eat real food, but unfortunately I cant between meals until July.  I used to be a big 3x meal and 2x snacker each day, so this has been an adjustment.  If you're looking for an easy snack, the Muscle Milk Lights have been great for me.  Just a thought.

I like muscle milk light, right now Im using the powder for whey protien shakes as my snacks, the small light bars have very little sugar also, both have better taste than most others also. I also like the Designer Whey, besides all of the hype I prefer the small Biggest Loser can for convience and mixibility, I can add a small scoop to a glass of skim milk on the go, mixes very well, it tastes good, controls hunger, good for recovery.

you're not the only one having issues, a rash of bad planning and kids parties is taking its toll.

you know its going to be bad when someone turns up to a kids party with Little Caesars Pizza for everyone.

having said all that i am on track so far this week...... 7 hours in!!

Water!  It's my answer for everything!   Seriously though, when I find myself searching for something I make myself guzzle some water then if (after waiting a bit) I still want something then I'll have it.  I don't normally get headaches though unless I haven't drank much water that day!

I know this sounds redundant but track what you eat!!  Seriously!  If you start writing down (even with pen and paper) everything you eat several things will happen: 1. You will see just how much you are truly eating and 2. you will start to question whether or not you really want to eat this or that because you will not only have to write it down but you will see in black and white that you probably shouldn't have eaten it in the first place!

Another thing is to distract yourself!  It can be something as simple as stretching, calling a friend, or walking around the block (or the office!)  Heck you can get on here and post a note where you know everyone will see it!!

It is hard to overcome emotional eating but you literally have to make a conscious effort to change it!

I find I do the same thing. I was wanting to eat so today I went for a walk and within a few minutes realized I wasn't really hungry.

I have read what I think is a great idea, make a list of what you could do to deal with it and keep it with you. Call a friend, go on line, go walk around block or at work around the office, ect.

I never smoked, drank much or whatever...I find that my method of dealing with stress is to eat always has been. So it is a lifelong thing I need to deal with.

Lately I struggle with I'm not hungry but am used to eating on a schedule so I tend to eat when it is time instead of skipping or eating later when I'm hungry.

Eat more protein. Have a protein at maybe 8-9 or just before you get that munchie time.

Thanks...I seem to be the windsheild rather than the bug the last couple of weeks!

Although, I have gained 2 lbs since my race on Sunday.  While I said I pigged out on afterwards it was not that bad.  Lots of pain in my thighs, left hip and right foot.  Is it possible that I am retaining fluid from swelling in those areas?

Often after big training days or races I retain water and it takes 3-5 days to go away...not surprising. I don't think it is swelling in those areas necessarily but inflammation from long run and your body's way of handling what you did.
