Got hoodooed into a 5k Sat.which does not sound that bad but its called the explore your limits 5k with a ton of elevation so that should be fun. Scott please try and not call a 6 miler at a 8:04 a slow run it really is hard on us fat slow guys who can't even run that periodSmile nice run I think it is called envy.

Sorry about that - i will try and not do that anymore. Had a great interview today in NYC. If I get the job my whole training schedule will be up in the air due to commuting. But still I will figure it out.

Good luck with your interview. Nice workouts latelt.

I just got back from the State Cup soccer tournament. My daughter's team made it to the final 4. Ended up losing 1-0.

Anyway we should have a few soccer free weeks ahead of us, so I will try to make the most of my free time

Tough 5k very hilly and alot of switchbacks last .5 very steep climb. Finished 46 out of 97, 4 in age group out of 5. The trail running was different I have not done any trail running and that did hurt but it was pretty fun that last hill sucked and it sort of aggravated my shins but I think I will get out and run the trails some now.

I have never tried any real trail running. My running buddy doesn't do well on nonpaved roads. We went on a run with a little offroad section on it. She warned me that she always falls when she runs offroad and sure enough she bit it, face first into the dirt. This was a month before her wedding and if those scabs hadn't healed before her wedding, she would have killed me.

I love trail running - most of my long runs (16+) are mostly on trails.

Swim bike today felt pretty good. We are thinking of doing a trail brick this Friday, 12 mile ride and a 2 or 3 mile run. We take the bike officers who come to train on a trail ride at carvins cove which is a local water source great trails so we are thinking of going out there. Looking forward to it. Just need to be careful and not twist an ankle before the 1/2, close the other day but I was really pushing the pace til I hit the hill. Water stop at 2.1 and I was under 18 minutes, that tells you how I finished????

I have never done real trail running, I have ran on a trail but this was like hiking trails complete with roots, rocks and switchbacks. It was pretty cool though really seemed to spike my heart rate all the little half steps and missing obstacles and it was muddy. Saw plenty of people bite it hopefully none were preparing to get married.

I went for a run today! Finally got outside. The forecast is clear for the rest of the week, but as I went outside, I got rained on. Go figure.

Ok, what is the deal? I have been running for years, but I go for a cheesey 1 hour run and for the first time I ended up with 2 bloody nipples. WTH?

Taking day off from swimming and maybe today and tomorrow off from running due to sinus congestion and just feeling downright lowsy.

Swim, run brick and threw in a quick weight workout. Hope you get to feeling better and I also feel your nipple pain a reoccurring issue for me.

After being sick or having allergies for a few days I decided to suck it up and do my 12.38 miler. Although my breathing was better, the torrential downpours made it so I couldn't feel my fingers. Oh well still did a pretty good pace.

Did a decent 1250 in the pool today. I just wish I can get faster - but cant figure out what I am doing wrong and dont have the coin for a trainer/coach thingy; nor do I have the availability for a Masters program. Ugh. As long as I can just do the distance in the time alotted - right?

Good luck Kip. Have fun with your half marathon

Scott, nice consistant work.

I am in a training class all week. It starts at 8. I usually start work at 5:30. I have been able to workout in the morning, but don't have any energy after class. I think I drank too much last night and I don't think I will be training today. Even though I didn't drink THAT much I have a headache

Have agreat day everybody
