Workout #2 is in the books.  30+ minute swim at the Y.  Feeling more and more comfortable in the water after a 4 month off-season break.  I have a love/hate relationship with swimming.  I hate just thinking about having to go to the pool.  I hate the first 10 minutes while I'm in the pool.  Then I start to enjoy my swim after I'm warmed up.  Then I LOOOOOVE it the second the workout is over.  I'll have positive thoughts about it until I have to start thinking about my next swim workout.  Why is that?

While swimming is my least favorite, I always feel the best after a good swim workout.

My goal was sub 1:12:00 so I made that...and can chalk up a race goal accomplishment for my May challenge.  =)

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-08 6:21 PM Did some fun bike maintenance today.  Took the bike in for a quick run into a 20+ headwind and barely could get the old single speed moving.  Too funny.  Now it is snowing lightly.  Hope to get some riding in tomorrow!!!!

SNOWING?!?!?!  Did someone forget to mention to Buffalo that it's MAY?!?!?  That's depressing.

Great job Jay!

Drinking 5 beers the night before and then knocking out a 2/100 swim, 20+ mph bike and ~8min/mile run.  I've decided to incorporate drinking into my HIM training plan! Those are some impressive #'s.  You've obviously put in the work leading up to the race... well done, sir!

Thanks guys...we'll see how I do next week with full rest for my A race Oly.  I was more than happy to make a few mistakes today so I learn from them next week.

Got my first ever OWS in today.  Went to a friend's house that lives on a lake.  It was chilly outside, likr 50-55 degrees and windy.  The water was mid sixties and with a full wetsuit, it didn't feel bad at all.  Question for you guys.  Do you let water into the wet suit by pulling the arm and leg openings open or just let it work it's way in naturally when you start swimming?

I serve breakfast in bed for Mothers day in the morning. If you're married, I highly recommend it.

This year she wants bagels and cream cheese.

I'm not married...but coming from the guy who's wife does the lawn and pulls carpet...I'm taking notes.

Nah, I just let the water work in normally.
