pdbman - 2010-07-09 11:55 AM So we've cut the lead in half folks. Keep it going.

Paul I looked at the winter rental rates - ouch!!!

$9k for the week - holy schmoly

Its a little cheaper in the summer. I'm glad that I'm not having to pay for it though. The places they rent usually go for 3k-4k a week. But that is still cheaper, easier, and results in a better pictures then working in a studio. When they do the photo shoot in a studio, they have to rent props and keep to studio hours. When they rent a house, they can keep working 24/7 if they need to and they don't have to worry about as many props, just the product for the catalog.

pdbman - 2010-07-09 11:32 AM So I'm wondering why I'm living where I live. Its an OK neighborhood. It seems to be going downhill a little over the last few years. We're thinking about moving. And today even more than ever.

My wife is a catalog coordinator and they are working on their Christmas catalog. They found its quicker and easier if they rent a nice house for a week and set up the shots and do their photo shoot in the house and everyone can stay there. So for the next week we are staying in this nice luxurious house at one of the ski resorts in Park City. In fact it is on the slope right next to one of the ski runs. Very nice (the master suite is bigger than one floor of my house). Well, the commute to work from Park City is the exact same drive time as it is driving from my house. Why do I live where I do? Granted, the house in Park City costs ten times what my house does, but I wouldn't have to live at the ski resort. I could go for something a little smaller. There is one for sale down the street that is 1200 sq ft smaller and is going for only 1.5 million.
Forget that house --- MOVE TO FRANCE SO THAT WE CAN VISIT YOU NEXT JULY! P.S. When buying a house, make sure it's along the TdF route, OK?

Sorry, the commute to work would kill me. And my French isn't too good either.

Christmas to New Year's week is 14.7k. Only 2.7k a week in the summer though.

Get a French girlfriend. I've heard that's the best way to learn a new language.

Um. Your wife may not approve though.

I didn't get my workout in yesterday. I was waiting for a call to help with a project. It was supposed to come at about 5, then workout at 6, then go meet my family in Park City. Didn't work out that way. The call came late and he had been waiting since about 4. I could have got in a double workout if he had called! I ended up skipping the workout and leaving for Park City at about 9:45. Frustrating.

I feel your pain - I missed yesterday as well....  Too tired to get up early, lunch ride squashed by work.  Help desk calls kept coming in every 30 min or so until about 10:00PM - I should have gone to run like last week, but I wussed...

go soak in ur hot tub

I would but I don't get to stay in Park City tonight.  That guy that didn't call until later last night, I have to meet him bright and early tomorrow morning to finish up the project. Hopefully once Saturday is over he won't keep calling me 2-3 times every day for misc stuff. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy, but his phone calls are cutting into my BT work time. One call in the evening to give me an overview would be plenty. Besides, he has to drive a truck for work and is always on the road when he calls. I don't like the idea of someone driving a big truck full of flammable gases being distracted by talking on the cell phone.

* Grumble *

Today was supposed to be a swim day. They only have ONE HOUR of lap swimming available tonight, so I made sure I can get there during that time.

And what happened? We're under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. So there's no swimming today.

The next chance I have to swim will be Monday evening.

*Grumble*

I totally understand the * GRUMBLE *. I brought my bike to work so I could go for a ride at lunch. I walk out the door and I could not believe the wind. I haven't seen wind like this for a long time. So no bike ride. After work is father/son fun time so no workout today. This hasn't been a good week for workouts. I decided to go to a lbs to look at bikes (so the lunch break wasn't a total loss). When I get back to the office, the wind is totally gone. If I had only waited a little while and tried again.

One advantage of wearing something like this is that people will definitely see you coming. You would never hear the end of it if someone you know sees you wearing it.
