Today and tomorrow will be long days at work.

Meeting at HQ, then closing the branch today.
Opening and closing the branch tomorrow.  Some staff at my new branch just don't seem to understand how important it is to cover their late night when they decide last minute to be off, and don't realize what other people have to do to cover for them.  Darn.

wgraves7582 - 2010-09-08 6:33 AM Morning Kendra - yes some people just don't understand stuff like that!  Hopefully it works out for you and you don't have to work 48 hours!

It's amazing how little some people think about the consequences of their actions.

Morning Ghouls. I had a sucky run this morning. I should have followed Ann's lead and stayed in bed.

Ann, hope you are feeling better.

Kendra, hope the work schedule sorts itself out.

Morning Most.

Neil, hope you are surviving the taper.

Any fun plans for the day Bill?

Did bootcamp earlier, have to work, need to leave a little early to get home for the kids (wife went out of country (canada)), tennis if the weather holds, and I should do a run.

You would think I would want to ride my bike so hopefully I can squeeze a commute in tomorrow but the weather is looking iffy!

How about you?  Any luck on the job search?

Ran this morning and feeling pretty run down. Tomorrow will be a rest day for sure. Meeting a work friend for lunch but that's about it. I may try to work a nap into the afternoon. Not much happening on the job search although I have been enjoying the time off. I was pretty burned out so a break is not a bad thing right now.

Yes enjoy your break - you worked way too hard and way too much!

Just remember you have to fill the - in between birth and death - life is not about work!!!!

I may be the opposite end of the spectrum but I don't ever see being burned out as an option - LOL

Well, you are The Most.  I am actually going to look at options that lead to a very different lifestyle. I may well jump back into the corporate craziness - I kind of like it, but it will be by choice after much thought.

You were in sales most recently right?

I like my little hidden cubical where I get paid to travel to fun cities and train like I can't at home!

But I sure would love to sell bicycles for a living

I would like to travel for work more. To places that are not toxic waste sites

I've been in sales, but most recently ran one of the businesses in the company. Not easy to explain, but sort of a general manager.  I've actually thought about working part time at the LBS while I'm looking. I'm pretty good friends with the owner and he has had a hard time staffing reliably at one of the stores. I could manage the shop and staff easily, but not really an expert on bikes.  I'm also talking to the Seeing Eye Institute about how I might help/volunteer there during the search.

Wishing you good travel locations, but secretly glad that there are people getting these things cleaned up and holding people/businesses accountable.
