It's so hard to maintain good body position when wearing concrete galoshes... |

Veteran 275 , Florida | Subject: RE: Team Florida Force!!! What is the swim challenge and how do I join the Florida Team? I am 'training' for a HIM in May, but learning to swim along the way! I do mostly drills, trying to get my stroke down, so my yardage may not be up to speed for the group. But, I may not swim far, but I swim often! |

Master 1978 Chelmsford, Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Team Florida Force!!! Swim Challenge definition...we all break up into teams, each individual pledges a distance in meters or yards that he or she plans to swim that month. Whenever you swim, you log the swim in your training log. Each week the captain (that's me) gathers all the yardage/meterage of the team and sends them off to the administrator of the challenge...this month, that's Marmadaddy. He will compile the lists and make a ranking spreadsheet in terms of percentages of yardage completed. This week, unfortunately, we are in last place. Last month we came in second with 96% goal. To win, a team must achieve 100% of it's collective goal. There were four winning teams last month. As far as getting on the team, I don't see why it'd be a problem but I need to make sure (with the administrator of the challenge) that additions are allowed this late in the game. You'd have to do 100% of your pledge in the 67% of the month left. If it's cool with him, it's cool with me. I'll inform the rest of the team as well that another member wishes to join. But I'll let you decide now that you know the rules! Just so you know, we all jumped on our slacking teammate's back last month when she didn't complete her goal...so be forewarned!! LOL So much for "all for one..." hehe... But let us know if you'd like to join, and if it's ok with Marmadaddy, then it's cool with me. |

Master 1978 Chelmsford, Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Team Florida Force!!! http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... That's the official rules/regulations thread. Since we on a losing team last time...ahem not THE losing team...A losing team...we had to change our avatar and signature lines to what you see in mine. There was a choice of loser avatars. OH yeah...and...WELCOME TO FLORIDA FORCE!!! Let's do it this time guys!!! Brent, I'll need your pledge so I can add it to my sheet. Thanks!! Edited by F150mco 2006-01-10 1:41 PM |

Veteran 275 , Florida | Subject: RE: Team Florida Force!!! OK, no problem! Question one; is my training page 'blogged'? Will the team captain gather the swimming yardage or do I need to send it to them? I will not be able to participate in March due to... things! Will that hurt the team? How do you virtually kick someone’s arse for not swimming what they said, and making me change my avatar to a jackass? Calm down, just kidding… not really! |

How do you virtually kick someone’s arse for not swimming what they said, and making me change my avatar to a jackass? Calm down, just kidding… not really! You could register for a race that they're doing and then ask if they really want to share a race course with a U.S. Marine with a grudge against you. But I don't think your teammates would take that well. As a matter of fact, I think you Florida Force people should all intentionally not meet your goals just to show Brent that you won't be pushed around. |

Master 1978 Chelmsford, Massachusetts | Subject: RE: Team Florida Force!!! Sounds good. Just FYI, our challenge weeks end on Sundays and begin on Mondays, and then we (the captains) send our team totals in to Marmadaddy on Monday nights...but I can look at your logs if you're more comfortable with sending in a weekly total on friday. Previous week's totals get posted in the "January Swim Challenge Totals" thread on Tuesday mornings. Happy Swimming! |
