UPDATE ON BOOK. Sorry about the delays. I received my second proof and couldn't live with certain mistakes. I should get my third proof in the beginning of next week, and I hope to have the book available at Amazon by the end of next week!

Peace.

I am doing my last tri of the year tomorrow, shutting it down early this year. I am doing a December marathon and I am determined to go sub-4. Also, one of the running stores is doing a "b tuff" challenge, you do 2 half marathons and a marathon in 3 months and you get a special medal. last year I did 3 half marathons and a marathon in 2 months so this "challenge" should be easy. Tri season down here starts in early March, so I am fortunate the off season isn't very long. This year my first tri of the year was on March 5th, so with a race or 2 every month since then, so I have enjoyed a fulfilling tri season.

Thank you. I hope everyone who purchases it enjoys it and finds it worthwhile.

I put it at the lowest price point I could without me having to pay the company royalties. I will get a huge $0.04 per copy.

HELP!

...I just received my Giro Advantage2 aero helmet from ebay.

Is there quite a learning curve for getting this thing on?

Does anyone else have difficulty putting sun glasses on first, and then the aero helmet?

Is there a trick to putting it on so I don't rip the ear flaps off? One side is already slightly cracked.

Ahhhhh! I hope I didn't just waste my money.

Tri Sam,

Sorry, I can't help you.....I don't have that helmet.  I use the Lazer Tardiz aero helmet.

Anybody thinking about going back to Louisville next year?  I was a little disappointed in my finishing time, so I'm really thinking about going back and giving it another try.

But, I'm also considering other races.  I'm thinking an earlier race (IM St George or IM Texas) so I can have my summer free for other activities.

Or, I'm thinking a late season race like Florida for cooler weather.  Also, Beach 2 Battleship should be less hassle (and less expensive) since I'm also in North Carolina.

Regardless, I'm almost certain that I'll be doing 140.6 again in 2012!

I understand, I too an a little disappointed in my finishing time. As much as I would love to do a 140.6 next year to get my revenge, I am committed to short distances and HIMs next year.  Plus my husband is going to Afghanistan next year, and I want him to be there for all my IMs. I have decided on IM Florida in 2013, he will be back by then. I am thinking about doing the Beach 2 Battleship half next year so maybe I will see you there.

Yes, I will be back and I have spoken with a few other BT'ers that rarely chime in on the boards that are going to be there. I know that they (as am I) also thinking or have signed up for IM Texas in addition to Louisville.

As a joke from Velominati:

Rule #37
The arms of the eyewear shall always be placed over the helmet straps.

No exceptions. This is for various reasons that may or may not matter; it’s just the way it is.

On the serious front, I put my glasses on last while I am riding.

Hi, Sam!  I ended up getting a slightly larger size for my Garneau aero helmet, mostly for quicker transitions.  I normally use a medium but went with the large for ease of putting on/taking off.  Can you remove some of the pads and maybe replace them with some skinnier material?  I've done that with some helmets to create a bit more of a "custom" fit. Just a thought.

I am seriously considering Louisville again but at the same time wanting to do others. Currently looking at Texas - If Louisville is a no go, then it could be Florida or Arizona...we'll see.

I've had the itch the last couple of days and decided to scratch- signed up for Columbia Triathlon (Oly) and Eagleman.

Only time will tell

As much as I loved Louisville, I almost feel like I had a dream day for my first Ironman... both performance and weather wise. That said, I feel like Id have to wait 5 yrs to get another day like we had this year. So, next year i'll be toeing the line at Ironman Florida. Im volunteering at bike check in this year and get to sign up at 9am the day after the race before all others.
Build races for IMFL 2012:
May: Gulf Coast 1/2 PCB (perfect recon race on IM course)(C race)
July: 70.3 Muncie (or take a mid-season break and re-charge for second half push to IMFL)(B race)
Sept: 70.3 Augusta (goal sub 5hrs, 5:10 in 2010)(A Race)
Nov: IMFL (A Race)
After IMFL in 2012, Im going to take a year or two and focus with my coach on gaining speed and really shooting for a 70.3 Worlds spot.
I would like to do IMWI, IMCOZ and IMTX in the future, although I favor the late season races.

I swear I just read a thread on BT for this helmet.  I hope it works out.

I put my glasses on before my helmet too, plus my head phones Surprised

I'm thinking I will be back in 2012, even though I have been toying with the idea of trying for IMAZ.  I would like to check out another IM venue but August is the best time for me.  I'm signed up for B2B and with the shorter days and odd fall weather I would much rather be done training by now.  Makes me doubt I would like training into November for IMAZ
