kaburns1214 - 2011-07-27 12:59 PM Speaking of getting chicked -- Scott how is your wife's half marathon training going?

Good actually.  She's been doing C25K and due to pride or something won't go below a 10 min mile.  She's supposed to run for 20 min straight today and has only repeated a day once.  It will be the furthest she's run ever.  I'm really proud of her.

That is awesome!  I'm doing the Disney Princess Half Marathon next February -- sure y'all don;t want to take a trip to Florida so she can run it?

We would LOVE to.  Seriously we honeymooned there.  Going there as a combo bday present for my princess addicted daughters next March and might catch some Spring Training to boot.  That half is on the list of wife approved destination races though.

I believe the half is the last weekend in February . . .

Kelly and I are going head-to-head (sort of) on August 21st.  How much time should I sport her so she has a chance to compete?

Let's note I ran Jeff-y down last year and beat him by 5-ish minutes.

Also note, while I was registered for AG Naitonals because of my and Shaun's work schedules, I decided to take arefundand race locally (plus its more fun to place locally than have my a$$ handed to me in Burlington).

You did run me down.  You also take bait too easily.

How much do you think i beat you by on the swim: 10 minutes?

Two incomes no kids?  why not travel?  My brother and sister-in-law are going to Amsterdam and Stockholm for 2 weeks.  On teh other hand: I spent $3000 on horseback riding lessons for a 7 year old last year.

BTW - I love getting chicked. fast ladies = good pace booty.

I'm a simple guy: beer + swine + scantily clad women = i'm good.

Good morning, all!

I was up early on the trainer.  I turned on a Spinervals Suffer-o-Rama dvd and saw my son's best friend's mother on it.  She is the triathlon coach I'd mentioned a while back.  Too funny!  The dvd was made in 1998, so she looked really young, but they interviewed her and everything.  I'll have to ask her about it once school starts up again.  LOL

Off to the pool later for a speed day.  Then I get to do a little shopping.  I went to put on a dress this past weekend, and it literally fell off my body.  Down a size and I'm tired of having nothing to wear.  I figure there are probably some decent summer sales right now, being that it's the end of the season.  My children and I are leaving for my mother's house, where we'll stay for a few days.  It will be nice to get out of Cleveland for a few......it's really, really humid here.

You need to go hang out with Jeff and Rudy so you can put some meat on your bones.  :P

45 minutes in the pool.  Felt easy, real easy and I looked at my stopwatch and I averaged 1:48 per hundred.  YAY progress!!!

Progress is a good thig, makes you feel liek its all worth it (sometimes).

40 minutes of intervals on the trainer this morning followed by a 4 mile tranny run.  first work out hat has felt good in awhile.

Kelly and I are going head-to-head (sort of) on August 21st.  How much time should I sport her so she has a chance to compete?

Why are you running with Trannies??  that is weird and sick dood.

And it is a Tri, not a rib eating beer drinking contest, i think you should run heads up......best motor wins.

Come come now, Jeff-y was bigger than i am and half crippled last year, he is a diffrent man this year, especially after all the running after trannies and such.

If poor Jenny came out here and hung with Jeff and I, she might now want to return to O-HI-O

And i don't know about you, but i think it is kinda cool when womens clothing hits the floor.  Especially when i had nothing to do with it, LOLOLOLO!!!!!

So I actually decided today, to finally try one of the Lake T weekday Tri's tomorrow night in Marlborough.  It'll be my first, but using it as a training race for Niantic next week.  The swim is 500 yards, 12 bike, 3.1 run.  I don't know the course, so I really don't know what my times will be.  Shooting for sub 1:20.  I may surpirse myself!

They don't provide swim caps.  Do I really need one for this?  I think other Tri's give them to you, correct?  They still draw 200 every week.  Not bad for a weekday series.

Wear a swim cap, it helps the life guards spot you if something happens.  Course is rolling (some might call it hilly).  Just go out and enjoy yourself, you're pulling 1:20 out of thin air.  See how you do tomorrow, then set a time for Niantic.

Sub 1:20 is aggressive for your first.  I'd really just race your arse off and then assess where you stand time wise.  I know I underestimated the amount of time it would take me, not to mention I forgot to factor in transitions.

Lake T is short and fast, the swim is about 1/4th mile.  Hammer the whole time. the bike is not flat but not hilly.  you should be faster than 1:20 based on your training times but as kelly said you are makign that up.  You should want to, or actually, puke at the end.  otherwise you left something on the course.  Have fun!

I def want to hammer. And as you and Kelly mentioned my estimate really is just based on my training. Not really sure how transitions will go, nor do I know how the swim will go, even though it's short. Looking forward to it and will post my report when I get home.

Did yoga this morning.  Felt damn good.  Core, swim, yoga.  Now working from home for 2 days straight with the girls running around.  Sanity may be shot by EOD Sunday.
