Well the Texas state Fair is upon us here in Dallas. The big deal is always what will be the newest fried food.

Voted Best foods of the fair
2005 - Fried PB&J
2006 - Fried Pralines
2007 - Fried Cookie Dough
2008 - Fried Beacon

The newest food to hit this year is Fried Butter. It comes in 4 different flavors, Garlic, Cherry, Smooth, grape.

I also saw an article on why the US is getting fatter and the Scientist couldnt figure it out...

Well it would be cooked beacon that is then battered and deep fried again.

The butter thing reminds me of Guilt Sticks.

That is SO gross Todd.

So since the work thing is 99% official... I got a bit of a promotion in my company!

Well, technically it's not a promotion it's a lateral, but it involves more earning potential AND me moving into a position where I get to do more of what I really really love about my job.

I am so excited!

I'm going to start transitioning into the role probably next week, but it will all be official starting in October.

The best part about it is that my commute to work is literally half a mile.  The new office I will be based out of is two blocks from my new apartment.

Heaven!

Has everyone recovery from thier long weekend?

Yeah for promotions!! and being that close to work, lucky you.

I know there is a fast RR coming out soon.

I did my longest consecutive swim of 1.5mi on Sunday. We meet up with another Tri group and we swam where my race will be. Not the course but the same entrance. Its a TT start where 4 run down the ramp every 10 seconds. My swim felt great. I got in some good draft work off the super fast dudes. I have noticed I can recover and still swim way better now.

Got to ride the actual bike course and learned alot. Need some hill work but I like the course. There are some rough patches of road and the worst part is actually scheduled to be repaved before the race. We will see if it actually happens.

Hooray for a short work week!!!  Too bad every week can't be like this.

Congrats on the promotion Nicole!  And that sounds like the. best. commute. ever.  Just think of all the extra sleep time in the morning, going home for lunch or a mid-day nap.

Todd....awesome long swim!!  Do I smell a HIM in your future???   You've already swam farther than the 1.2.

Had a great long weekend visiting friends up in Boston and best of all got my mojo AND my legs back!  I was starting to wonder when my legs were going to start feeling solid again, and it was getting a little frustrating.  FINALLY back though!  And I'm feeling fired up for some solid training going into Longhorn!!

I have like a year to do some trickery and come up with some good strategery. Plus it would be good for me to have someone kick me on the run when I am laying on the ground crying.

Your right, there will be no crying from me just singing.

"Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream
of what I need"
