I got my 30 minute walk in during a brief snow squall in Cleveland. Felt good to get away from my parents house where I am helping out. Not to go too deep into it but my parents are so old that it just depressing to be around

I've got a long way to go to get beck to where I was last year in February when I ran a 15 miler. Baby steps and fewer oreos.

DQ

AWESOME job Dave! That's all you need right now. Just get up, get moving, do something every day. No stress. You can do PT exercises too - assuming the old shoulder and achilles haven't healed.

I did PT exercises (along with squats and push ups) yesterday for 30+ minutes instead of my 45 minute maintenance run. Mostly because I have a new IT related knee pain and don't want to aggravate anything now with just a week to go before the Dopey.

Great job DQ! Like John said--just a little bit at a time!

No workout for me today, other than trying to hang the new tv my wife bought me for christmas for my trainer rides (yes, she is awesome!). Finally got the mount up on the wall after several tries (our house is old and weird), only to find out the "universal" mount kit doesn't have the right size screws for my tv. The darn thing has 48 screws, including two different threads of the next size up, but not the size I need. Guess I'm off to Lowes tomorrow to get screws after masters swim practice.

Anyone get any good tri stuff for christmas (besides Juan--awesome bike!)? My in-laws basically cleared out my Amazon wishlist of small tri items, so I got two different rollers (hard and soft), couple of books, running lights, and the tv set up from C. Overall--great tri christmas for me!

I'm right there with you, Dave.  Starting from scratch after hitting 30+ SBR workouts last January.  We know what needs to be done - just need to do it.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! Hoping to get out on another 30 minute walk before watching Ohio State crush Clemson.

We need to write up some new years resolutions to get/keep us going this year. WHo wants to go first?

Finished out the year at Masters Swim. Every set was 16 of something and lots of fast stuff. For the first time I swam a lane up from the slow lane. Bonus--I kept up!! Last four 50s were butt busters. We finished 2016 with nothing left in the swimming tank.

On tap for the rest of my day:
Christmas down
Figure out my 2017 goals
Clean out my pantry in preparation of January's Whole30 eating challenge (first 2017 goal)
