Don't forget to update your BT logs and the team spreadsheets by midnight tonight. And remember - You now have a little EXTRA INCENTIVE.....

You may now achieve 110% of your individual goals!

For example:
Your swim goal may now reach 110%
Your run goal may now reach 110%
Your bike goal may now reach 110%
Your "other" goal may now reach 110%

What does this mean?
- If you want to give yourself an extra push and challenge yourself this month --> GO FOR IT!
- If you have a teammate who is lagging --> Here's your chance to HELP YOUR TEAM!

Each individual goal will be capped at 110%. (In other words, you can't do 125% of a goal.) This means that you could, conceivably, reach a "super achiever" 110% total.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and do some training!

- Dee

June Challenge Team Standings - Week #3

June is now 73% completed, and we're almost at the END OF THE CHALLENGE! Here's how the teams stand, with just over a week to go:

FIRST PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos - 65.9%
SECOND PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) - 61.3%
THIRD PLACE - Avatar Avengers - 58.6%
FOURTH PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers - 56.5%

Congratulations to the KAMIKAZE GECKOS!

BUT June isn't over yet! We still have 8 more days to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT!

And remember - You may now achieve 110% of your individual goals! This means you can challenge yourself even more, or help out teammates who may be struggling to meet their goals.

For example:
Your swim goal may now reach 110%
Your run goal may now reach 110%
Your bike goal may now reach 110%
Your "other" goal may now reach 110%

Each individual goal will be capped at 110%. (In other words, you can't do 125% of a goal.) This means that you could, conceivably, reach a "super achiever" 110% total.

Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June?

The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.

Hey, guys.  I'm working on my running.  It was really smokey here all weekend, which kept me indoors.  But this morning, it was a bit breezy, so I managed to get 6.25 miles in.  I have a long way to go still, but I'll do as much this week as I can, and hopefully get a long run in this weekend (smoke allowing).

I'll also see about getting my last two swims in this week/weekend, and maybe throw in an extra one to make up any slack on my running (if that's allowed).

I'm at 95% today. I might coast a bit throughout this week, but hey, it's rest week! Don't know if I will make a full 110% on the swim by the time it is over. I should in the bike and run.

Hope everybody had a nice weekend. It sure was lonely here on the Avenger thread!

Hi all,

I've been AWOL the last week (in fact I've mainly logged on this evening to make sure I hadn't been booted off the team ) -- sick and then life got in the way.

I made my bike goal today but will be short one my swim goal. Will make my core goal though and might go over which will help even out the swim. Run goal is up in the air...

Hi everyone,

I am over on my swim goal as of yesterday and will hit 110% on that.  There is some possibility I'll go over on my other goals if all goes well.  It depends on the weather and my knees holding out (they have been fine since I added a couple stretches, cut back just a bit on bike time, and started doing some deep muscle massage on my thigh muscles -- thanks Heidi!).

Heidi,

I was just adding to the spreadsheet and I accidently hit enter and somehow deleted Carlacrews bike total. I hit undo but I'm not sure if it corrected correctly. SorryEmbarassed

Cool, I didn't even know there was an undo button. Carla's bike total is fine, so it musta' worked!

Great job on the swimming! For once I did not mess up your swimming total. Glad to hear the stretches and massage are working for you!

Last week everyone. Time for the big push. I should be able to meet 110% of my swim and bike goals. Possibly my running goal as well. I think I will also have meet my strength training goal!

I hope everyone is feeling better. Good luck with the last week!

Wow, you guys are looking great, going over 100 percent! Hopefully that'll make up for some folks who aren't going to make it.

I should be able to meet all of my goals. Swim no problem, bike no problem, run...well, 33 miles (and change) in seven days? Sure, why not!

I had an unexpected OWS today that pushed me over my swim goal! Yay! That was the one I was worried about, as my Y is closing for a week, starting Sunday. I took a bunch of teenagers from our Bible Conference out to the lake for cliff jumping, and two people wanted to swim out to the island. I couldn't let that opportunity pass. It was about a mile, out and back. No wet suit, though, just denim capris and a sleeveless shirt. Great drag practice!

Hey guys.  I was away this weekend without my computer so I couldn't log until Monday   I'm still not where I want to or should be. I'm really not sure what happened.  Will pick up most of the slack this week.  It will be very close and I apologize.  I've had to cut most of my swims short because of time, since they were all lunch swims, but this weekend I will have extra time to try and make up the swims.

Hi all.  I should meet my swim goal today.  As for the bike, I'm hoping for a ride tomorrow, Sunday and Monday which should put me right at my goal.   As for running, I'm going this afternoon, and all I can promise is that I'll do what I can to get to that goal.

Hi guys,

I'm afraid I've had a major issue blow up at work and so I'm going to withdraw from the challenge. I've hardly had a spare minute in the last week and I don't want to let you down.

Good luck everyone,
Gill

Hi Gill,

I understand. I've been there, too.

I've updated the spreadsheet, to show that you've withdrawn due to work issues.

Hope things get better for you soon!

I'm up and over the top - currently at 102% overall.   I will be pushing that up a little further over the weekend.   How's everyone else doing?

In the 90% on everything.  Should be over the top on run today and swim and bike on Monday.  I am assuming that the challenge goes thru the 30th so everything should work out just about right.  My guess is that I will be around 105%.  These challenges really help keep me moving.  Come on everyone!  Finish strong!

Great job!!

I feel confident that I will (just barely) make 100 percent in everything. But I'll definitely be training right up until the end of day Monday. (I feel like I'm back in college cramming for a final or something.)

I am hoping to make 110%. I have a 30 mile bike ride tomorrow that will get me at 110% on the bike. I am already over for swimming. I plan on getting one more strength training session on Sunday and as for my running I have a 4 miler planned but I may do 5 miles to get me at the 110% mark.

I will get my swimm over 100% today(Sat for me) and I'll to 110% in the run tomorrow. I wont make the bike but I will get to 100% overall. I struggled with a cold for part of the month-it is winter here- and getting up to target has sure taken discipline but these challenges certainly get you going. I never would have done half as much as i did without it. Come on team-Strong to the finish.(that's partly to myself cos I don't want to get on the trainer today!)

OK, I'm trying really.  But the smoke around here has got out of hand, and I wasn't able to get a run in this morning.  I'm going to try again this weekend.  And I've already scheduled my last swim.  And I've been doing my core workouts, but not blogging them (I do them just before bed, after the computer has already been turned off).

So, I probably won't make my run goal, unless I can get a special dispensation on the whole smoke thing.  But I'm on target for the other three goals.
