TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II January Challenge Week 2 (aka, The World According to Beth) Swim, bike, run, post, post, post! The cornerstones of the January Challenge! Ok, so posting really isn’t one of the triathlon sports, and really has nothing to do with the January challenge, although early in week 2 you wouldn’t have known that based on the posting activity of the Talking Tilapia Flying Fish and the Twisted Blisters! Members of both teams took the posting challenge to heart and members of each team valiantly tried to out post each other. They even started to resort to replying to each other’s posts within their own thread (ummmm, certainly nothing yours truly would have done) – LOL!! Captains Kendra and Beth called a truce and started new threads and the focus is back on the challenge (although, the blisters are ahead in the post count hehehe!) Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra – Captain Bluejack Flying Fish – Captain Kendra Team Ride Lots – Captain Scott Loving Every Mile – L.E.M. - Captain Lisa Who’s your Marmadaddy? – Captain Sal Wet and Wild – Captain Jeni Twisted Blisters – Captain Beth Scrambled Legs – Captain 1for1 Team T.I.T.S – Captain Max (aka keeper of the T.I.T.S) |

Well, in this case.... I thought the glitter more resembled hang-over bubbles. LOL Anyway, I've adopted the little green guy as my "avatar du jour." I kind of like him. Maybe I'll keep him for more than one day, even. (Not sure what that says about my outlook on life, but.... LOL) |

I will add two more hours to my goal if that is OK. I just wish I could start loosing the weight I put on! (Go ahead and change it on the spreadsheet. Goal raises are always a GOOD thing.) MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II tritwinmom - 2008-01-15 12:42 PM Thanks for your well wishes fishes! I spoke with the Director of Nursing (who used to be my old nurse manager) yesterday morning, she was expecting me! Hawaii nursing is all under union contract and unfortunately it doesn't matter what your experience is if you have not done acute nursing in 5 years you are like starting as a new nurse. Understandable, but to get back to your pay that you were making when you left takes too long! That needs to be changed in the contract. I will be in on that when the time comes. Any ways they did go to bat and were able to give me 7 months back meaning I got a couple of more $ an hour. I should be back to the pay that I had in less than a year instead of over year and half. This would also apply to a nurse that works home health or long term care for five years and then applies back to acute care nursing. I feel better that I fought, I did get something for it! Now I can sleep better! That is good news. So when will you be starting and how many hours a week? Just curious. Edited by kns57 2008-01-16 8:26 AM |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II I have been checking the status of pools where I am going to be next week. The community pool is closed for the season so that is out. I'm looking to see if there are any clubs that i can get a day pass to. I have sent an inquiry to one that will give you a free day pass if you go on a tour. Might be worth checking out. Claim I just moved? I don't know if I can pull that off. LOL |

Master 1292 Houston | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II I have completed another 1500y this morning. I went to the indoor pool today, it's raining and cold this morning and I don't think the Y lifeguard was interested in uncovering the pool just for me! This was a harder swim today for some reason. I worked a pyramid, biggest to smallest this time, and I was pooped by the 100y set. I may not swim tomorrow and try to do something else like the bike in the am plus PT to see how my ankle feels. Then swim again on Friday. Have a great day out there today Fishes!!! |

Now I can sleep better! I start Monday, I have to orient to the hospital again, there have been some changes so it will not be too boring I hope. I will not start back in my unit until I get back from skiing! I will be on call, I plan on doing one night a week. I can only work nights cause I don't have solid coverage for one of the boys after school, the one with disabilities. I hope this doesn't interfere with training too much! |

Master 1567 Kauai, Hawaii | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II Swam again yesterday in 71 degree water, yes that is cold! Felt like swimming in syrup, ears hurt for a bit! I wish it would warm up, but it looks like it is going to stay cold for Hawaii, I know, poor us. The swim practice time has been shorten due to the cold water, they are doing dry land instead. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II Okay, do I hope for an ice storm that closes work for tomorrow and then I can focus on getting ready for the trip and of course miss swimming because the county pool is closed due to the storm also, OR Do I hope that the storm misses us so that I can get my swim in tomorrow and only need one more session to finish the month out. Of course that means, no storm, I have to work tomorrow night. Which one do I want to happen, because which ever one it is, I'll hope for the other cause then I will get what I want. Do you like my logic? |
