Damn, another typo on the typo! I mean to say I was doing 1000yd swim workouts instead of 100 yd workouts.

Updated Weather information has been provided from the National Weather Service (NWS) and the Office of Emergency Management.  The indications are that Hurricane Ike may be at tropical storm force for portions of Arkansas with winds at 39 mph up to 60 mph starting Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.

In my email today, doesn't look like there will be much racing this weekend for me.

What a shame you won't get to race this weekend afterall. Still...better to be safe.

Everyone have a great weekend whatever you get up to.  The kids school is having an 80's night tonight with music and good food so should be fun and today I am doing another 16km run and some weights. Tomorrow taking my daughter (10 year old) to the track for a run and bike and the pool for a swim as she is doing her second tri first weekend in November.

Weather here is gorgeous and for the first time in months is going to crack 23 degrees - woo hoo will get to break out my new running skirt

Well, I did my second tri yesterday.  What a difference some solid training makes.  Granted I came in dead last (if you don't count the DNFs), but it didn't exhaust me like last time.

My RR is up now if you all want to check it out - or if you need a good laugh tonight.  Thanks so much to everyone for your support.  It has meant more to me than you know.

I've got a few minutes here before I have to head off to work.  Thanks for everyone checking up on me.  I didn't realize how long it had been since I had been on the computer! 

First off, congrats Lora and Jess on your races!  I will read more on them later, but I am proud of both of you for all the training and hard work!  James, thats a bummer about your race but there will be plenty of others out there.  

Things here have been a mess.  Ike ended up moving further east and not hitting us at all (no rain and just a little wind).  Sounds like it hit James way worse than us!  But the coast got hit hard, and Austin ended up being the big evacuee center.  So we've been pulling double duty working normal shifts and covering all the shelter sites as well.  They even canceled all our scheduled vacations for the next month because they are sending workers to help out at the coast, which means more work here for the rest of us.  Luckily, since I had already bought tickets and all to go to NY, they are not making me cancel that!  Whew! 

So, I have been working like crazy and not getting a whole lot of sleep.  Have had no time to workout and looks like I am just going to have to do my best at the run this weekend.  We'll see how that goes.  If I get lucky, I will try to squeeze in a quick run in the next day or two.  We'll see.  Stay safe out there.

Tim! It's good to hear from you. Good luck with your run this weekend! I'm sure you'll do fine. I hope the long work hours don't last much longer

This is it, my MS 150 ride is finally here. I'm really excited. I feel ready for this and I can't wait to have fun. It's forecast to rain Of course it's been beautiful for the past 3 weekends (at least I was able to train in nice weather).  I'm not looking forward to riding in the rain, but I'm determined to have fun and to put in the miles.

So send some "Good Weather" vibes my way!

x2.  They start you out in a pose that seems relatively easy.  Then they have you do something weird with it and you're totally like, "What the crap?"
