I busted up watching the highlights of Shrek's tantrum. Classic. I could watch that time, and time, and time again. What a baby. There is a rumor that the FA will suspend him for another game for his refusal to leave the pitch. Same here ^^
Ps if any of you americans are wanting info on how to watch some more EPL games i may be able to help but pm me ^^ |

Sometimes we miss the best EPL games. My wife found a fan club here in Chicago, so now I have access to ALL the LFC matches. And if I don't, I listen to the radio broadcast on the computer.
Oh, and welcome to the footy thread. The more the merrier. 1/2 the time it is me just prattling on about Liverpool, but as long as you aren't a ManUre fan, you are welcome. |

So - the best I have found for access to ALL matches starts by going to Justin TV...google it for the link...generally there are links to the broadcasts and chat rooms that also a have links etc...I've been able to see the Champions league, mid week games there....quality is sometimes questionable but it works most of the time. - My Uncle lives in Derby - recently sold his house - used to belong to Brian Clough in the day..one of the rooms had the forest logo all around the crown moulding! Glory days! |

WTF was wrong with the US in the first 75 minutes of their match against El Salvador?!?!?! Thank goodness they salvaged a draw, but if they played the entire match like they did at the end, they should have won 8-2. |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? I caught most of the US game - it was disappointing in quality. I usually refrain from watching these since they are generally poor and not entertaining - this was no exception... First - Beasley at Left back? why? he was at fault for the second goal...the El Salvador player blew by him and delivered a quality cross..goal!....not sure what Bob Bradley was thinking..he provided no attacking options on the overlap etc....hopefully a one off experiment. The US played very ponderously...slow build up - no real tactical plan that I could discern...when they got 2 down it was all Route one...hump it to Altadore and Ching to head and cause problems....it worked - sort of ...but hardly a subtle tactic and one to build on...oh...I forgot..Dempsey in the middle of the midfield...bust..not his forte... Donovan was wasted because he never got the ball in areas he could run at the defenders.. If this is the best the US has then it wont be enough - it was definitely disappointing. I liked Torres.....seemed better on the ball...Hejduk showed pride and fight to get them back in the game but the rest was very lack lustre.... Maybe this is why I DONT watch these games on a regular basis! |

Maybe this is why I DONT watch these games on a regular basis! Dude! Excellent recap. We came in well into the first half and when I saw where Beasley was, I thought, WTF!?!?!?! Wondering if Bradely thought this would be an easy game so maybe he would experiment. Almost blew up in his face. I think the El Salvador GK stalling for up to 5 minutes actually helped us quite a bit. Bradley was able to make some very significant changes, and then bringing on Torres (it was funny to hear that name but see a different players than I'm used to when that name is mentioned) made a world of difference. And Jozy. Still, should have been a win. Easy. And the way they played looked markedly different than just a month ago against Mexico. This week's mid week game should be interesting. |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? I did...in patches...between that and trying to watch the McD all star game... Thoughts - the center of midfield is "uninspirational" - Bradley makes 60% of his passes backwards it seems, and when he plays forward it is poor...neither he nor Dempsey were able to beat their opponent 1 v 1 so it was hard to get a numerical advantage in the last third and most attacks were then slow and predictable. The only game changer who has the ability to turn a game is Donovan...he created all of the goals with sharp movement and mobility....Overall the team needs more of this...so I'd like to see Torres in the game more. I think the UD would benefit from a more up tempo approach and not the slow methodical play that characterizes Central and South American football Altador was solid and took his second goal really well...the others were laid on a plate so hard to give him too many props for that. He does show potential but when he had the ball in space or 1 on 1 he did not impress too much....I think he will get better, after all, he is only 19...and Villareal need to place him where he can play not sit the bench Best - or most surprising score of the day - Bolivia 6 - Argentina - 1 - AWESOME!!! |

Landycakes has actually surprised me the last two matches. My biggest complaint with him, in international play, is that he has almost disappeared when it came to big matches. IF he keeps playing like he did the last two matches, then maybe, just maybe, he can start to gain some respect. But he will have to do it when it counts and I wouldnt' say that these two games counted as much as if it were the WC. Torres has some BLISTERING pace, doesn't he. These two matches were the first chance I've had to see him and MERCY can he move. Finally, Altidore's goals were special, I don't care how he got them. Sure, 1 and 3 were served on a silver platter, but there was a time, not too long ago, where our forwards/strikers would have even missed those because they just didn't have the confidence to finish them off. He is 19 but has the confidence of one who is 25. And it is confidence, not arrogance. On come blogs I've read, they claim that The Gnat (Hyudek) was too "all over the place" and didn't help pressure up top enough. Personally, I think his energy is infectious to the rest of the team (see the uninspired play by Columbus last night to show just how important he truly is). I wish more members of the MNT had as much grit as he does. When he commits to a tackle, he commits. And for an old guy (37?) he still has some impressive pace. Personally, I think he is the reason we weren't down more against El Salvador AND why T&T didn't get more chances to score. BTW, I've knicknamed him The Gnat because he is always around and it seems like it is impossible to get rid of him. An annoyance that you really wish you could squash. I'm just glad he is on the USMNT. |
