Basically back at restart due to not wanting to be on the bike with kidney stone...  Hope to ride tomorrow...  Running has been slow coming back due to cold weather.  I am getting mental block in training.  On Thanksgiving, I did a mile with my brother in a Turkey trot before I needed to walk.  Tuesday morning, after 30 seconds I was walking again....


Well, you took a break from the running, so it'll need time to come back. But it'll come back, just keep at it.

I have a really tough time training in the cold. The cold, dry air causes my asthma to kick in, so I start wheezing like crazy. Also, no run for me today, since there's ice all over the roads.

So, as Dee said about 6 weeks to get back at it.  I think that's doable with consistent training.  I would recommend a time based training schedule to begin.  When you are able to run for 15- 20 minutes straight. Then switch over to distance.  Start with 1 min run, 2 min walk  etc up to15-20  minutes depending on how you are feeling.  Gradually add on to the run, and decrease the walk.   Try doing this about 4 times a week.

It was 32 degrees outside,  63 degrees inside...  So I did core work..  Stretched and crunches for 30 minutes...  Better then nothing...  Swimming tonight....

Nope - Heated outdoor..  nice 58 when I started 48 when I finished...  Temp dropped like a rock when sun went down.

Got in a nice 2000 tonight...  sore right now...  details in log.  Last 300 yds was in 7:05 after having already swam 1500, so I am happy with my performance..... 

Hopefully this is our last week of cold - It is scheduled to be 39 in the morning without wind chill.

Still have not made a decision...  Have a few more weeks until the cost changes, so I am slow in making it...   Since I have not run or biked I am leaning against, but I think I convinced someone else to do the Super Sprint, so I may need to for that reason alone.  I am signed up for Sprint on June 6.

Thanks for letting us know your still around...

Got in a nice 6.5 mile ride this morning...  So much nicer in the warm....

Decided to only do the Super Sprint in March.  Looks like a Sprint is local in April and then the longer Sprint race in June.

Hi Mindy...glad to know you're still around!

Steve...glad the run went well and you felt OK with the run walk combo.  So you are doing the super sprint in March - 2 mile run, right?  Keep up with the running and you should be able to cover the distance easily even if you are still in the run/walk.  by that time you should be running a bit longer than you are walking.

And yes, I agree, so much nicer when it's warm out.  That's just a memory around here in the northern clime.  We have had one of the coldest February's in a long time. .  I am SOOOOO done with winter.

We broke many record low high temperatures and some low low ones also this month, so it has been unusually cold all over.  Yours is worse then mine.

Run/Walk again this morning...  Felt fine, equipment failures so more walk then jog, but I had a 4 minute jog in the mix.

Swimming was easy and light since I missed my coach due to a late meeting, so I just did not push too hard.

Cool again... 43 degrees...  Almost did not open the pool.

Biked almost 6 miles to pool.
Swam 1800
Biked little over 2 miles back...

Good workout...  Now off to Seafood Festival....

Hi Steve,
Looking good.  Keep up the jog/walk, try to stay consistent for a few sessions, meaning don't add any running time.  When you feel comfortable at the times you have been doing, add a little, never more than 10 percent.  Or if you want, keep the running time the same, but decrease the walk time in between.  Don't do both in the same session.  Remember, slow and easy will win the race.  Meaning, talking it slow and easy now will get you where you want to be healthy and injury free.

Cold out (for Florida) in high 30s.  Went almost 2 miles at the 2 min walk / 2 min jog pace...  Not fast but it was something...

Swim tonight...  Looking forward to good swim after a Monday at work....
