tri808 - 2010-04-01 2:45 PM Michelle...can you make the wind stop blowing...I mean seriously...how is anyone supposed to ride their bike in these winds.  I was down lagoon drive and even the people running into the wind didn't look like they were moving.

Jay, if I could belieeeeve me I would. It has been horrible the last few days. I sure hope it isn't blowing Sat morning cuz it is going to suck running across that bridge.

Is that the ford island bridge run?

It is. I was supposed to do it last year but I ended up having to go home on emergency leave so I vowed to do it this year! It's somewhat sad...this will be my last race here in HI.

Well...just make sure you have fun...

Oh I will!!

rnihill - 2010-04-02 7:29 AM Good morning A-Team!  Frustrated that the kids wanted to wake up before dawn...  they are just too excited to be at grandma and grandpa's!  Thanksfully, my dad is making me coffee.

No training planned today, Friday is my usual day off so it works out well.  Today we have a busy day planned with a trip to the science museum, a trip down south of Buffalo to visit my husband's grandfather and then a Good Friday gathering here for dinner with all my aunts, uncles and cousins that I haven't seen in ages.

Happy Training today A-Team!!

Alright if you see a good looking guy riding his bike southbound give him a honk - it will be me!!!

Heading south soon...  I'll keep my eyes open for a guy on a bike that looks like a real muck racker.  Wink

hmmm it looks by my time I could have joined you as this is when my phone decided to ring and wake me up! Some boy calling my 14yr old daughter! I realize we are on spring break but no one should be calling my house at that time! Boy did I lay into her! I should go wake her up right now since I can't sleep!

Want me to call the boy back and have a little conversation with him man to boy!!!  I know you have a hubby but I am here to help - I might need some practice since I have a 14 y/o DD as well   But the boys she knows are smarter than that

Oh, I am really dreading when my 2 girls are teenagers...

7 mile run in the books...chalk it up...

I'm done for the rest of the day...softball game tonight after work...group ride tomorrow.  Not sure how much of a group it will be though...there's a time trial on Sunday...so I assume a lot of folks will be resting up for that.  I was considering participating...but it's a hill climbing TT...what fun is that.

I could do that today also 80 in the Buff!!!  That never happens in April!!

Biking in the buff...oh my!

They do that in the fremont solstice parade in seattle.  Indecent exposure write-ups don't happen...apparently it only applies if a person's intent  to be obscene and cause alarm.  I hesitate to post pics here...I don't want to make the moderators have to step in.  But...it is easy to look it up in wikipedia and there are plenty of pics there.

I was just checking the mileage on some of my shoes, as one pair is nearing 500 miles, but I also noticed that since I started running in June of 2009, I have just hit 1000 miles recently...probably in the last 2 weeks or so.

Not bad I guess...to go from 0 to 1000 miles in 10 months.  Yes...I needed to toot my own horn a little.

Mel - I have heard about it - you can youtube it also - not that I have Innocent

I meant Buffalo - LOL

In Chicago, once a year there's a naked bike ride.  I have yet to see it, but I've heard it's quite a sight, especially if you're not expecting it!  (One of my friends was having dinner at a restaurant with a patio one evening and then suddenly thousands on naked or mostly-naked cyclists zoomed by while she was eating.  Hahahaha).

Jealous!  I'm at work, but I wish I had the day off!  I would totally knock off a good chunk of my biking goal today if I could!

Yeah, it was 80 yesterday and today in Chicago too!  And to think, a week and a half ago I boycotted my long run because it was sleeting/snowing/windy!  Crazy weather!!

Not bad?  100 mile months plus swimming and cycling.  That's solid!

Morning workout.  This little beauty is just down the street.  10x with pushups at the top, then a half mile jog to warm down.  The morning after pain never seems to get better after this one!

Well...most of my miles were during marathon training...so I was only biking about once a week, and swimming twice...but was running about 120-180 miles per month during the peak of the training program.

So far this year I've been in the 70-85 miles per month range as my biking and swimming volume have increased for tri training.  Trying to "slowly" work it back towards 100...so my base will be solid once marathon training starts again in August.
