Okay gang, as my challenge team I'll let you make the call on this one...

I skipped my swim workout this morning. Wuss-out excuse or legitimate reason?

After spending the day in West Des Moines, I can home last evening and started to pack my swim bag. I had left in on the bathroom counter with my suit, goggles, swim cap, ear plugs, and shampoo. When I reached out for it, I discovered that one of the cats had peed on it all.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I am sensing that folks think this is a legitimate reason.

Everything has been rinsed, then sprayed with that enzyme stuff, then washed thoroughly with soap and water.

I'm getting ready to go to the pool now. I'll swim Tues-Wed-Fri or Tues-Thurs-Sat this week to stay on schedule for the month.

One hour drainer ride this morning.  One episode of The Soup and one episode of Three Sheets.  Two of my favorite shows that I recommend to anybody that's a degenerate like me.  Crappy night of sleep.  I think my caffine intake is getting the best of me, so it's probably time to cut back.  Possibly a switch to 1/2 reg and 1/2 decaf is in order.  Of course, I'm currently sipping on my XL high-octane Dunkin Donuts bucket-o-coffee right now.Embarassed

Got in my plyo workout lastnight - brings me to 39% compliant for the month on all four goals.  I am catching back up - slowly.  At least I have a biathlon on Saturday that will help.  Happy Tuesday folks!

What? No teammates jumping in with a witty reply to this ^^^? I'm Evil. Where do you think I live?

I don't think you are evil.  I've met evil.  Looked him in his cold, black, lifeless eyes.  Ask me where he is now and will be for the rest of his life.  Cool  - you - I just think you are a bit ornery - which is cool.

As long as I'm posting, I'll give you all an update. I did my lunch hour walk/run as scheduled yesterday, and I did yesterday's swim this morning. I'm considering trying for a short relaxing ride this evening.

WOW, is it Tuesday already???  Hope everyone is having a great week so far.  Had a great race on Saturday....well, except for the swim, it was rather confusing.....Andy was there, he can vouch for that. Wink   Haven't posted my RR yet but will try to get it done today.  Ran on Sunday, swam this morning & have a bike scheduled for this evening.  I am at 43.8% completion for the month so far.

Knocked out my lunchtime run, so I'm done for the day.  Another double workout day tomorrow to make up for yesterday's blow-off day.

Did the same...  Will ride in the morning and swim tomorrow evening..

BTW - today was brutal heat index of 100 for a 45 min joggy-walk-jog...  Not sure if I can do that much time in the noon heat yet...

Just catching up after being out of town and couldn't pass this up. A heat index of 100 would have been quite nice this last week. We were laying cement floors (prepping, mixing, hauling and laying) in Vera Cruz Mexico with a heat index of over 120. Got back to Salt Lake today and it was a chilly 85 (it seriously felt chilly).  That kind of heat does take some building up to so I completely understand what you're saying.

Dee... time to turn the taser on yourself! Surprised

You must reeeeeeally like me because you put me on both team 2 AND team 3 this month.  I just got a message from Stacie on team 3 asking me to get my butt in gear.  I told her that my heart belongs to team 2.

But which team does your but belong to??

It's now officially ours. Did you want to borrow a taser to help motivate him?

Hmmm, I am as new to the concept of motivational taserings as I am to triathlons... I'll need a few pointers.

Wondering which offers better motivation to pick up the pace: a taser or a big growling dog? Or -- being passed by someone your mother's age?

Been there done that. On a half mary not less. The old guy beat me by over 20 minutes.

Can't believe how little posting has taken place over the last week while I was gone. At least we're still in the lead in the posting challenge.  I'll have to see what I can do to make up for Bill being gone this month.

Just updating the spreadsheet. I've decided that the cement work we did over the past week is going to count for strength workouts for my goals. Hauling cement in buckets is harder than any strength training workout I have ever had. So that means I've met my goal for the month. I'm going to increase it for the month though so I will still push myself.

Also counted my running up the pyramids as a hill workout toward my running goal for the month. I'm going to have to take a break from running for a couple of days though. My ankles have swollen up like balloons and are a little sore from the skin stretching. I hope I don't get stretch marks Wink. My biggest concern is that I will be OK for the Relay race Friday/Saturday.

Noticed your pizza goal for the month Chad. I like the idea but only one pizza for the whole month? I hope you can do better than that.

One would think that if someone would want to get such a vehicle they would also want a small hose or some other way of accessing the contents.

Not really sure what I did to get stuff all jumbled up and out of order.
Can't seem to edit it to get it straightened out either.

Paul... I'm with you on that!  When I did my half mary a few months ago, there was a guy that had to be in is 50's, possibly even 60 or 61 that was running about a 1/4 mile in front of me.  My goal the entire freakin race was to catch this guy.  Try as I might, I never caught him and he finished about 5+ min in front of me.  But that's not the biggest part of the story... the guy was carrying this full-sized American Flag on a 10 foot pole the entire freaking race!!!  The thing had to weigh 50 lbs. and I couldn't catch him!

I also have started a self-imposed "caffine taper".  I've been drinking too much coffee... add to that a soda or two in the afternoon and my sleep has really started to suffer.  So today I downsized from the XL Dunkin Donuts full-octane coffee (which I believe is 24 or 26 oz.) to the Large Wawa coffee (20 oz) 1/2 regular 1/2 decaf.

For those betting enthusiasts... the over/under on when I'll completely crash this afternoon is 2pm.Undecided
