D001 - 2010-07-09 3:38 PM * Grumble * Today was supposed to be a swim day. They only have ONE HOUR of lap swimming available tonight, so I made sure I can get there during that time. And what happened? We're under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. So there's no swimming today. The next chance I have to swim will be Monday evening. *Grumble*

I totally understand the * GRUMBLE *. I brought my bike to work so I could go for a ride at lunch. I walk out the door and I could not believe the wind. I haven't seen wind like this for a long time. So no bike ride. After work is father/son fun time so no workout today. This hasn't been a good week for workouts. I decided to go to a lbs to look at bikes (so the lunch break wasn't a total loss). When I get back to the office, the wind is totally gone. If I had only waited a little while and tried again.

Well, maybe the lunch break wasn't a total loss --- did you get anything at the LBS?

One advantage of wearing something like this is that people will definitely see you coming. You would never hear the end of it if someone you know sees you wearing it.

Well, it's my TdF challenge team. So far, they haven't done much though. Maybe the upcoming mountains will change that.... Or else, I'll just keep cheering for Saxo Bank.

I'm doing some shopping around before I buy a new bike. Plus the stuff I already have is getting old and needs to be replaced. Looked at kits, pedals, helmets, road and mtb, gloves (the leather of my old ones split from age). Was going to start looking at computers but I was running out of time.

Got a 10-mile run in this morning with my marathon training group, then a wetsuit-less OWS with my tri club... Which I biked to!  I love it that I'm racking up TdF mileage in order to do my non-TdF workouts!

Just wrapped up a pretty solid week of workouts, but I still haven't even started on my yoga/core goal.  I seriously need to get on that tomorrow.

pdbman - 2010-07-09 11:28 AM I didn't get my workout in yesterday. I was waiting for a call to help with a project. It was supposed to come at about 5, then workout at 6, then go meet my family in Park City. Didn't work out that way. The call came late and he had been waiting since about 4. I could have got in a double workout if he had called! I ended up skipping the workout and leaving for Park City at about 9:45. Frustrating.

I didn't get my workout in either.  bleh.

*GRUMBLE* That was me the other night when I got kicked out of my lane by the water aerobics class.  Its really annoying that they "claim" both lanes 10 full minutes before their class starts.  BAH!

So... I'm signed up for the Aspen 1/2 Marathon in September.  I did it 2 years ago, pre-baby, pre-broken kankle and it was hard.  You run from Snowmass  UP A FREAKING SKI SLOPE and hang out around 10k elevation then descend into Aspen.  It BEAUTIFUL; prettiest race I've ever done.  And great raffle afterwards... anyway, my point is that I can't run 3 miles right now without it being so. hard.  Monday I'm supposed to start a 10 week program.  Can you all help keep me motivated to follow it?  It calls for 3 days a week of running.  1 track workout, 1 tempo and a long, slow run on the weekend.

I jogged 3 miles this morning, pushing the baby and it was all right.  My longest run since I broke my kankle last November was a 10k I ran on Mother's Day.  Pushed Miles in the stroller the whole time too; that was a good confidence boost.  I just need to be consistent, right?

I must have updated just in time.  I still cant believe I'm an "overachiever".  I feel like such a slacker.  Planning on an 8 mile long easy run tomorrow.

I am doing fine with all my goals EXCEPT the weight loss one. I've never had 'weight loss' as a goal before. And all I put down was 3 lbs. BUT IT'S NOT HAPPENING. The scale goes down one day, and up the next.

For everyone who lost significant amounts of weight -- Congratulations! You obviously worked hard to lose it.

It's tough.  You never know with your thyroid if it's going to cooperate or not.  I stopped having short term weight loss goals because I couldn't make them.

Hmmmmmm. I hadn't even considered the thyroid factor. Excellent point.....

I know that my meds need adjusting, too. (I need to find a local Dr. who handles thyroid issues. I never did that after the move.) I've been tired all the time -- and even light exercise makes me MORE tired, which is an indicator that the med dosage is off. (Again.)

Stupid thyroid.

Me too.

I *like* swimming. But I don't like crowded pools. Or pools that have 2 lanes available for lap swimming only....

I need a pool of my very own!
