Sorry, couldn't help myself She has this thing going on on Sunday, it is kind of a big deal, he better be being nice! He can save the naughty for when they go to Mexico. This is acceptable. Seriously though, have a great time Melissa! I can't wait for the RR. Lol. You guys are bad. :P Neal and I are never naughty.... I'm sorry, you should try it sometime. Can someone recommend a series for an 11 year old boy. He just finished the Legends of the Guardians series. He loved it, but he has always had a thing for owls. He has read the Harry Potter Books, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the Percy Jackson books. He prefers series over just a single book. He is asking me for something to read, and I don't want to turn down that request.
Good morning! Check out the Artemis Fowle series by Eoin Colfer. They're pretty good and I think there are 5-6 books so far (I know we own 5). Another decent series are the Pendragon books, but check the reviews to make sure you think they're age-appropriate for your son. Garrett was about 11-12 when he first read them and did fine, fwiw. Both good series. Some others to check out: Children of the Lamp series - P.B. Kerr Fablehaven series - Brandon Mull Underland Chronicles - Suzanne Collins Maximum Ride series - James Patterson Bartimaeus trilogy - Jonathan Stroud Faerie War Chronicles - Herbie Brennan Tapestry series - Henry Neff |

Now I'm not meeting up with my Mom in Calgary as originally planned and have been switched to a flight that doesn't leave till 11pm here...so I was at the airport over 4hrs too early. They waved my oversized baggage fee for my bike though...so that was good....haha. Free bike transport. Boooyaaaaaaaaaaaaa |

Well his Mom is a librarian...so that probably helps as far as what he read when he was younger....and he reads them now too still. Haha. I like young adult sometimes too....The Hunger Games and Harry Potter were really good! |

Morning, Ann Watch out for that heat. It can hurt you before you know it. I offered someone here at work $100 to sabotage the air conditioning units so we could all go home. I'm more worried about the dogs. The kids will be home most of the day, my SIL is coming over, so I told them to keep the dogs inside most of the day. It was 83 at 5:30 this morning. I walked out of the house and felt like I needed a shower.

When it gets this hot is is odd outside. The sound of the bugs is deafening, but the birds and others, quiet. Then, after sunset, there is this huge frenzy of activitiy. Call the kids or SIL, and check on the dogs during the day if the sabotage doesn't work. |

Indeed, you need to get out of that job!!! I was very deflated last night. The company I spoke with the other day HAS NOT won the other contract. They are submitting their proposal. It is supposed to be awarded for the work to start Sept 1, but it isn't money in the bank yet. So right now there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I do have to get out of here. There is a group of guys that I work with a little bit, they sit right behind me, and they are all completely miserable here, too. They are very insolent toward everyone and honestly if I spoke to people the way they do I'd have been fired by now. They are getting more and more rude and disrespectful toward people, and have started just bashing everyone. I used to stand up for them, and talk to them, now I want nothing to do with them. The whole situation here is just getting worse. |
