mr2tony - 2011-12-11 4:31 AM So tired. At work on a Sunday, which is bunk on its own. WOrking at 530am on Sunday is ultra-bunk.

I am crabby because I have to go to two church services this morning.  I think I would explode if I had to go into work today. Bummer Tony.

TWO? It better be because you're the one giving the sermon, performing special music, or otherwise so integral to the service that the church roof would collapse from your absence. (Are you holding one of the crossbeams up?)

I suppose it might be somewhat excusable if the integral person is one of your children.

Funny Yanti, I guess I just need extra forgiveness today.  My wife teaches Sunday School, and my youngest sings and rings bells at two services.  Don't tell anyone, but we might skip out half way through the second service.  Shhhhhhhh!

I have never left a service early for reasons like that.

On the other hand, if we had set lunch reservations at a restaurant we really wanted to go to

Heh. When I went to a church with a notoriously long-winded pastor, we used to tell him, "Hey, God goes to lunch at 12pm sharp, and we're going with Him ... "

Well, I would be listening to the sermon a second time. Plus the middle two of our Sunday services are essentially the same with respect to the music.  The first service is much more traditional and the last service is contemporary.  I didn't think I needed to sit through two essentially identical services...you have me thinking now.

When I was growing up in Wisconsin we attended a small country church which shared a Pastor with another small congregation.  We rotated early and late services with them.  If we had the late service which was at 10:30 and the Packers were playing at 12:00.  Well you guessed it, we walked right out after the communion so as not to miss kickoff.  Nice.  Way to set an example for your kids and show them where your priorities are.

mr2tony - 2011-12-10 8:42 AM Enough with the lovefest in here. You all suck and are DBs. Especially Jim and Cord. Boom shakalaka.

ha i truly needed a good laugh this morning.

woke up today...like the shock of what happened yesterday, hit me?

crying. ugh. i hate when i get like this.

i know everything will be fine. i am not sad about the job loss.

but, maybe this is a delayed reaction. idk.

happy saturday all.

Stress puts you in an emotional state. Highs and lows. If I'm not partying it up with hookers and blow, I'm curled up in the corner with my binky crying like a beeatch. You will be fine when this settles in... And I don't suggest the hookers and blow route.

hookers and blow, or you in the corner with a binky.

trying to decipher which is more believable? Tongue out

happy sunday, silly people of the TAN thread.

Unless you extremely liberally define "hooker" and "blow," I'm calling binky.

I have a woobie, myself.

Happy Sunday, shkinny Shar! Feel better?

Buckshot - 2011-12-11 7:53 AM Morning Ken.  Great looking day out there today! Sunny and warm run this afternoon and perhaps some football.  I am missing college games already. What is on tap for you today?

Just got back from taking the family out for breakfast. I'm with you, I really miss college football. I hate waiting for the bowl games.  The Army-Navy game was pretty cool yesterday. I'm filling my time with lots of hockey.  Gonna watch some NFL later on after my workout.

Yes, we did leave half way through the second service.  I felt like ; but many of parents left.  Even our Pastor commented that I had already attended the first one.  It was a very good sermon and message today.  Hot tomato soup for lunch and then I'll go out for a nice long run.  Warm and sunny (about 35 degrees) today!!!!!! I read you blog, congrats on a restful day.  I am happy to read that.

So (hahaha, just testing) ... what was this very good sermon and message about? Innocent

I read and study the Bible every day, but lately it's been more "Our Daily Bread" and another reflection type style ... I miss a more focused and contextual approach. I have a good (both) Corinthians study around here somewhere; I should dig it up and do a little every day.

Mmmm, soup.

I hope you have a wonderful long run!

Yeeeaaaah ... PK, you're like, topped up for life. Probably even for the afterlife.

I have this *thing* for PKs. Only to be outdone by, perhaps, MKs. Wait, you were both, weren't you?

God's everywhere. I go to church, but He's there...to comfort us...anytime.

Anywhere. Hi K.

@ Buckshot...I'm doing a lot better today. I suspect I'll have varied emotions with all this. Thanks for asking. How are you?

@ Yanti...prayed for you in church, girlie. I hope you are feeling better today? {{{hugs}}}

In other news...did you know bellydancing music is absolutely fabulous to run to? ha Who wouldn't thunk it? Cool

Thank you so much, love. It has deeply humbled and touched me how many people have prayed for me, and each one who says so, it means so much to me personally. {{MELON PRESS}}

Yeah. I'm feeling a little better on most days. The trend is up. Oh, and I'm not puking everything anymore, nor feeling nauseated all the time, and ate half of something that could be considered a real meal today ... seriously ... these are huge things when you've not been able to do them for a while.

I will pray that you soon realize and come into your bright and glorious future career. I have no doubt of it. Oh, maybe not so bright and glorious on the outside, or from the outset, but most true gifts come in odd packages.

I am really good, thanks for asking.  Just getting ready to go outside for a run, Xmas music is playing, fire burning, girls are making ginger bread houses, my sins have been forgiven............all good for now. Has been a relaxing weekend.  I have put off shopping until next weekend.  Trying to put my list together for my father-in-law.  He likes to get me tri stuff.  Thinking about the new Garmin 910XT or cheaper 310XT.  Decisions, decisions.

Reverse chocolate chips cookies (chocolate cookies w/ white chocolate chips).  These have always been some of my faves, but never tried them.  If they taste as good as they look (and the batter tasted)...

nice FIL you have. aw.

Gingerbread houses. Oh what fun! Without the job stress looming over my head now, I can finally get into the Xmas spirit. I wasnt going to bake anything, but told my daughter I would bake a few of her and her brother's fave cookies, now that I'll be home.

See? If we all could somehow be independently wealthy? Think of how much fun we'd all be having. ha

Which sparks a question for TAN:

I asked my son this yesterday, he's 19. What would you rather have...large amounts of wealth, but minimal time to spend it, OR...your time is your own, but you live only with your needs being met? I ask you all this.

I chose? Time. Losing my job sucks in a few ways, but where it doesn't? Is I have time to do what I want, when I want...deinitely a delicious thought.

That is an interesting question.  I would definitely choose the time with needs being met.  Money can't buy time.
