Member 38 | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Definately better this week, after last week's very stressful family siuation took me out for the first half, and a soccer injury got me for a couple of days. I am going to have to remember to be a little more careful on the field this coming season. This week has been good, even though allergy season has come a little early. I am looking forward to next week since I have a funky work schedule. It means I should get outside more than ususal! |

South Florida | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Hey Gang! My string of good luck of not being injured is has ended. Not to happy about it. On Wednesday nights I play Corporate Softball with some people from my company. Last week, i tweeked my left quad a little bit which hindered my brick run on Saturday. So i took it easy this week with running, since the running bothered the quad. Well last night i really pulled it. Its not the entire quad, just the top of it near the hip flexor. It feels like someone gave me a huge deadleg! So, i'm not sure what to do about softball. Really bummed out.
Hope everyone else is having a good week. Almost FRIDAY!!!

5 | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Just finished my 5k race in 33 minutes. For my first 5k (since high school!), I feel pretty good about it. I was in the back of the pack because Denver is super fit. Also I met a running buddy who told me about another one next week. Feeling pretty good! Going to focus on bike and swim this week, because I am finding my runs improve when I cross-train. Happy Sunday! |

Master 2158 | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Cross training is great. For most of my training, if I get the volume my plan requires, I rarely care if it is bike or run, as long as the intensity matches. Swim is a bit different. |

Master 2158 | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Hey All, Had a good race this weekend. Paced my wife to her new PR of 1:57:25 in a half marathon. Here is the race report. Hoping to get my training back on track this week. I had ordered new tires for my "race wheels" They arrived today, and I relized I had only ordered one tire. Not very useful. I am traveling this week and next week for work, so I am trying to get a good plan around that little bit of difficulty. |

I am still having a lot of trouble with my legs swelling up and hurting. My Orthapedic doc thinks I might have compartment syndrome. I have an appointment tomorrow to get the test to see for sure. I just wanted to post to let anyone that might have wondered where I went. |

So sorry to hear that. I have a friend that went through something similar. They did get it worked out in the end, so hopefully there is some good news out there for you! |

Member 45 Evansville, IN | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL I'm happy to finally have a real answer or at least in a few hours have a real answer. If I do have this it sounds like the only thing they can do is surgery so that will put me out of commission for a bit but from what I have read most people bounce back and I'm 6-8 weeks are better than new. This is just a speed bump. I'm not done yet. |

Master 2158 | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Hey All, Up in the north again this week. A little tired from the early morning travel, but I managed to get in a decent workout and a run at the local gym. I did mile intervals today warm up at 9:30, first mile at 8:00, .25 mile rest at 9:15, 1 mile at 7:30, .25 mile rest at 9:15 and final mile at 7:03 with a .25 mile cooldown. WOW, is all I can say. I know I was probably supposed to run all three miles closer to 7:15, but I wasn't sure I had it in me. It felt great, even though it was a treadmill run. I set the incline at 1.5 to better simulate road conditions. And why would I make myself suffer like this? #1, I took most of last week off, so I had some extra "juice". #2 I am hoping to PR at a half marathon this weekend. Looking to go 1:48 or below. I think it is a bit of a stretch, but I have been feeling strong at 1:57 the last two half marathons I did. I just don't know if I have an extra 45 seconds per mile. I am tempted to ride on saturday to make the weekend more of a "race rehearsal" weekend for my march 70.3, but I am up in the air. Any thoughts? |

If you really want to pr, then no ride. knocking out a Half that fast will still do wonders for your 70.3. Put the hammer down and hit that goal. I pr'd last October with a 1:49. it was an 8:22 pace and just kept it there the whole time. I think you'll be around an 8:15 pace. Don't start too fast and finish with your fastest mile last and you're in! |

South Florida | Subject: RE: Eli's If the world is ending, I'm going to tri!- FULL Hey Folks! I'm going to take the idiot of the day award. I went to packet pickup for my half marathon last night, but i didnt see my name on the list. So i go to talk with someone and turns out, the deal that i bought from Active/Schwaggle was good, but i never registered after i bought it. Guess i didn't realize i had to that. Whoops. No half for me, but i plan to ride 50 tomorrow. Lesson of the weekend: Make sure you read the full details after buying a "deal" :-) |
