Subject: RE: Let's Get It Started! with chrisbowers mentor group - CLOSED and ROLLING!plumline387 - 2012-01-28 12:18 PM I tried a wetsuit on for the first time yesterday. I get chlostrophobic in tight places so needless to say, it was a bit traumatic. I was just hoping I didn't have to call the sales guy in to help me get it off. That would have been embarassing! I finally got it on after a second try. I am not sure how I will do with that on me for any period of time before a race. Is my only other option to go without? That could be cold for a May and June swim in Maryland. So, I really have two problems...I hate being cold and I am chlostrophobic. I should have tried the wetsuit on before committing to two tri's. Aaaahh, The first wetsuit try-on; always traumatic! Once I got in my first one I thought, "This has to be the most ridiculous thing ever!" I looked hideous but oh well. I rented wetsuits for the first year, only about $25 for a long weekend, and last year I rented one in San Diego at Extera...what a difference compared to the old used ones I was renting. Much easier to get in and out of and much more movement. Extera allows you to purchase their rented suits for half off. I got a farmer john for $60 and a full is only $90. When I rented my first wetsuits I thought all wetsuits would feel the same but I was way wrong. I suggest you try several brands and find one that works for you. I too had trouble getting in and out of the wetsuit until I tried a much nicer suit. It slides right off. |
