Member ![]() | ![]() Mav, I just signed up for the old fashioned 10 miler on Feb 19th, and I ordered my wetsuit the other day from wetsuitwarehouse.com! Joel wasn't kidding when he said that this whole triathlon thing can get addicting. My next step is to get that bike and possibly the gps watch. I don't think my parents mind if I'm addicted to fitness/triathlons, there are a lot worse things I could be addicted to! I'm running 6-7 miles every other night, and doing the elliptical and bike for 45 minutes on the alternating nights I don't run. Trying to keep it up for the big races coming up down the stretch! |

Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ebshot - 2012-01-31 6:51 AM I'm also cutting back on my caffeine (cause my doctor is making me). Anyone else as dependent on it as I am? I usually drink 1-2 pots of coffee a day and about 1 liter of Diet Coke a day. I am down to 32 ounces of coffee a day now. I am renewing the water challenge and hopefully I will be able to sleep better. We'll see! Oh My that is a lot. We used to drink that much too; it took time to cut down. We started making the pot half-decaf, stopped keeping DC in the house (but I still drink them out and about), make a pitcher of tea every day, then cut the tea with decaf/green/herbal. When I was seriously counting fat grams, I started measuring out only 1 cup of whole milk first thing, and I would drink coffee until my milk was gone, then stop. Good luck! I think you will sleep better. Have you tried melatonin for sleep? |

Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() kpringle - 2012-01-29 4:48 PM I typically run a 10:30-11/mile during my long training runs and we averaged a 9:49 pace for our 6 miles. I don't think I ever could have done that if I were running on my own! The run felt great and I'm still able to stand on my legs, so that's a good sign, haha! WOW great pace |

Damn, no-one said there'd be food TriB4Bride....you are on the South Shore, no? Join us! Hi I AM HERE! I survived Zoe's first stomach bug! I havent done a bit of exercise since friday but I did weather another 'first time mom' milestone! Is this the Foxboro race were talking? Could me a GREAT motivator for me. Its my husbands Day off, its not at the "butt crack" of dawn, and its short money. So lack of preparedness aside.. I have NO Excuse.

![]() | ![]() Good Morning. Going to be another beautiful day of warm winter temps!!! Today is the start of a new month. Try to pick something you want to work on for the month. My goal is to try to get all my strength training done. It tends to be the one thing I dont do if I dont have time. Its important and I cant skip it this month. I am going to ride outside again today!!! Yesterday was sunny and in the 40's. Today will be almost 60...crazy wonderful winter |

![]() | ![]() Great day for riding yesterday. In the past week I have biked 125 miles...outdoors!!!!! Did everyone get a chance to do something outside yesterday? I actually cleaned my bike after riding yesterday. I know there is some salt on the roads and it eats bikes just like it does cars. So if you do get a chance to ride outdoors...be sure to wipe your bike down and take a dry cloth to the chain to get off any salt. Also...every other ride you should lube your chain...It will extend the life of your components Is everyone drinking their water???? |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Quiet day in here yesterday. What's everyone up to today? I am not sure what I am doing training wise. Life wise it's another busy one. Surprise! Anyone racing this weekend? |

Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() No race for me this weekend. I've had a pretty low key training week... Been fighting some cold symptoms but feeling MUCH better as of today. ![]() ![]() |

Member![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Sorry I have been off the radar screen. I have been working 10-12 hours every day and haven't had time to post much. Bought my first pair of bike shoes on Wednesday and tried them out on the spin bike at the Y. This weekend I plan to install my new pedals on my bike. I also bought a skewer for the indoor trainer. I figure better try being clipped in in the comfort of my own home before I make a fool of myself in public. My walk/run this morning went pretty well, but I am reluctant to sign up for that race in Foxboro. Last time I was running, I hurt myself by doing too much too soon. I also tend to get kind of carried away at races. Maybe I'll feel better about signing up next week. Also, I think I should try running on some flatter area -- like maybe the track at the high school -- to get a better idea of my stamina in a place like Foxboro, which I'm sure is way flatter than my town. This is another week where I have to work Sunday night, so I want to try to get in as much working out tomorrow as possible.
