Eesh. Yeah, you have to replace the timing belt/chain at about 60-70k. And that's like 700-800 bucks a lot of times. From what I hear, it just about HAS to be done. If it fails, the whole engine goes.
Have them replace the water pump while the engine is apart. It ties directly into the timing belt and, while it's already out, you pay no labor to replace it. The part isn't that expensive ($60-$100 ), but the labor will be the same cost again as you paid for that timing belt.
Your water pump WILL fail; just a matter of when, not if. |
