Everyone is doing awesome, actually. Part of the low percentage is due to Cleavitt's absence.

Okay, it's Oprah time on Thread Bump.

1. I confess I may have been posting in the enemy camp ... and not smacktalk.

2. I confess I may have seen another team member there.

3. I confess that I may have been e-consorting with members of other teams.

Not that any of that is soooo horrible, but when you consider that:

- I haven't even posted HERE yet today

- them apples are ahead of us in posts and running

aaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiieeeeee!

So after these tearful confessions, I now resolve to:

- do an easy run tonight (I need to anyway, and won't worsen the cold)

- post lots of inspirational and perhaps even vaguely relevant stuff in here

- make sure I inspire you guys in your logs, too.

Thank you for the support, *snif*, my name is Yanti and I am a lapsed Bumper!

Penalty points for Yanti -- must go randomly inspire 5 people today and beg them to come inspire everyone on our team!

Let the other teams think we are behind...we can sneak up on them, as ghosts are wont to do.  As we know from racing, negative split, negative split, negative split.  Start out too fast, bonk before the finish line.  Just watch the pace booty and know when to pass.

Keep on running!

Yanti,   So many confessions...I've only smack talked on a couple of threads--only because I really don't want to get all the e-mail updates about all the other team threads and can only block a whole topic as opposed to particular threads.  I told someone from black magic to screw off the other day (in person at that) but that's about as nasty as I've gotten here.

My big confession?  You'll find it in yesterdays blog.  I realized I'm more of a swimmer who rides and runs than a runner who swims and rides.  Pretty crazy since I began all this tri stuff by injuring my foot with all the running I was doing.  Still love a good run, but it's taking me more and more motivation to get out there and DO IT.  It may of course be partly related to the 90+ degree weather we're experiencing in OCTOBER when it should be getting crisp and cool...

Today was a swim day (what else on Tuesdays and Thursdays?), tomorrow is a 12 hour shift in the cesspool called pod 1 so it's a "rest day" for me.  Thursday is a swim, core class and a bike.  Friday might be a short brick after work because Saturday is my fall 10K.  A totally new race for me so it will be fun!

Keep RUNNING gang!

Y'know Judi ... I did notice how impressive your swim workouts have gotten.

But as for being a biker, runner, or swimmer ... I think you are a very impressive triathlete.

Ahhh, confession is good for the soul!

I guess I should try some of that myself - here goes

1.  I confess that I may have been posting in the enemy camp.....some smack talk, but not related to the challenge.....

2.  I confess I may have seen another team member there Surprised

3.  I confess that I have not contributed toward meeting my goal this week (there are some extenuating (sp?) circumstances which I will explain later

After these tearful confessions, I resolve to

1. Find something really great and inspirational to post in our thread

2.  Figure out a way to overcome the challenge at hand (or ankle as the case may be) and meet my goals - do not fear team, I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!

3. Inspire my fellow teammates and cheer them on toward their goals

sniff, sniff Cry

ahhhhh, confession, good for the soul -

Sorry, I just have really been wanting to do that!

So, how have I been doing in my steps toward running and team recovery?

Inspires--done.

Running--some walking. Not quite well enough to run yet.

Inspirational stuff in this thread--not yet, although I enjoyed Beth's!

Tomorrow's another day ... have a good one!

If she does not report in this week, we will have to drop her, if that's cool with everyone. I don't know that she's even been on this site in awhile - I sent her a PM that has not been read and she has not posted anything to her logs in a long time.

Keep up the good work everyone, and we should have a better standing at the end of next week! I'm running tomorrow morning.

Bonus points for Paul for a fast fast track run!  Upping the intensity doesn't officially count for anything in this volume-based culture of BT challenges, but it does for me, so you get props and good karma points, not to mention faster at your next race.

Bonus, too, for volunteering at the 5k.

Bump

Unfortunately, that's my only bump for today - thing for church after work. I'll be running tomorrow morning though.

Holy crap, my abs are sore from yesterday! It hurts when I sneeze...yeah, I'll be doing that class every Tuesday (or Thursday - not both, but once a week as I can schedule it in).

No run for me this morning, but I have a dr's excuse. I spent the evening at the ER with Husband. Soooo stupid. He had minor surgery last week and had the stitches removed yesterday. Was told by the Dr. that he could go forth and resume training (half mary Nov 11) so he ran in the afternoon, and went to swim later and pushed off from the wall and his incision split wide open. Wasn't pretty, let me tell you ! So, I couldn't drag my pooped out behind out of bed this morning, but I plan on making up for it tonight before I do my strength training.

Biking in the rain can be real sweet and refreshing if you have decent raingear. On the other hand, you've been working really hard ... you deserve a day off!

Oh man ... I hope hubby is okay! He and Beth should talk ... there's some serious bloodletting goin' on in this thread .

This week seems like it's a bit of a drag, or injured/tired/sick for most of us. Except Gail, the ever-chipper cheerleader--thank you so much!!!

"Somebody may beat me, but they are going to have to bleed to do it." -Steve Prefontaine

You guys weren't supposed to take that quote literally!

Here's a link to Prefontaine's page ... I don't know why, but even postmortem he works his charm on millions of people. There is just something about the guy. An odd kind of inspiration, but very inspirational nevertheless.

Hey Bump gang! I have a running question for you guys. Today is another run day for me. Per my conservative C25K, my cumulative running time "bumps" from 2 minutes to 4 minutes today. I still need to figure out how I want to break that up into my total time. I haven't decided if I want to just increase my four 30 second intervals to four 1 minute intervals or whether I want to keep doing 30 second intervals but do them more frequently. Is one way better than the other? Your thoughts?

Thanks!

Yep. Right now it looks like he was shot with a high-caliber bullet. When I was checking him out last night before we went to the ER it was large enough for me to put my finger in and that was only looking at a tiny part I'd pulled the bandage away from.

Especially since you're just starting out ... it's probably better to get to the walk break sooner. In other words, stick with 30s intervals, but do them more frequently.

That's what Jeff Galloway would say, anyway. He's my hero.
