Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() strikyr - 2012-09-09 3:00 PM They finally posted JoAnne's first bike split at 56 miles it was a 4:02. That is a good sign she's out there and moving she still has plenty of time to make the cutoff. Go JoAnne! I think that's a good sign too! Keep it up! |

![]() | ![]() Wow, great day for the junkies. Dirk crushed it, Brenda ran a greast race, Joanne is tearing it up as well. Did she really post a sub 6 bike at Wisconsin? That's spectacular, hopefully she left enough for the run. As far as Bayek and sons, we won the relay today! They couldn't get the buoys in the water due to the surf, so it was a 1 mile run on the beach/bike/run. Zack was disappointed to not swim, but it was definitely the right decision by the RD. I managed a 40:36 bike on my roadie for the 15 mile ride, so that was satisfactory. We didn't get the podium in the pic because we aren't experienced at this stuff! Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So... I'm a little worried! I hope it's just a glitch, but JoAnne's 94 mile split hasn't come in yet. I was looking around at some other times, and the bike splits seem to be there for others and it also seems like they've updated through at least 9:20 total race time. Cut-off for bike is 10:30. So I'm hoping she's through 94 miles but it just hasn't come through yet on the website! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Me too, I am hoping that it is just a glitch and we will see those bike splits get updated for JoAnne. I really hope she is still out there moving and I hope she can make the cutoff. |
![]() ![]() |
![]() | ![]() Go Joanne. Hope it's a report glitch as well. |

![]() Great pic Warren, congratulations and it sounds like you all had a really great time! What a fun experience for the boys. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am fearing the worst now. We are now 12 hours into IMWI and no bike split update. Like Samantha said I checked JoAnne's age group and there are updates for the bike and the run. It is looking like something happened between mile 56 and mile 94. I am really, really hoping that was not the case but we should have seen something by now. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Don't forget the time difference, they are on central time... so we haven't quite gotten to 12 hours yet, but yeah, even so, I think we should have at least seen mile 94... sad face. |

At IM Lou I was tracking a guy and his splits didn't show for a long time then the next thing you know all his bike splits were there. Fingers crossed. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well as you guys can see they pulled me at mile 87 I think it might of been 85 either way there was no way I could make the cutoff I was told I could go for another half an hour and they were gonna pull me anyway. I still feel like crap from whatever I have. So I am chalking this up to maybe contributing to my demise, even if it didnt the hills were a . Anyway not the Birthday Present to myself I was hoping for but there is always next year when I turn 50. ![]() The people of Madison are awesome cheering you on and running up the hills with you to get you thru. I Will take this and definetly learn lots. Once the swim wasmy huge fear and although the swim was less than stellar, I felt really good! A huge congrats to Dirk and Brenda on their race today you guys were awesome! Edited by Jo63 2012-09-09 7:58 PM |

I'm proud of you no matter what - you trained so hard and attempted more than most people (myself included) ever dare to even think about. I'm sending you a giant Junkie hug and lots of love right now. Rest up and get well. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() JoAnne you should be very proud of yourself and the effort you put in today I know we are all very proud of you. You gave it everything you had even though you were not feeling 100% but you never gave up. I'm sorry that things did not turn out better for you and that you didn't get to finish and were hoping for a better ending on your brithday. Happy Birthday and don't be disappointed you'll be better and stronger for your efforts today. |

Now I'm thinking it's time for a well-deserved rest, both physically and mentally! Maybe I should wait a few weeks to ask this, but what's next? Any idea what could have caused your illness thing?? |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm sorry that things didn't go quite as planned. We're all still so proud of you. You worked really hard and grew in so many ways. You'll get it next time! The heart of an athlete is found in their training, not in their racing. You have been training for quite some time and have proven you have the right attitude to complete this distance. Get back on track later after you have had some time to get past the illness, take a couple of weeks to figure out where you want to go and then get back in the game. I am very happy you have been able to commit to the level or training you did and I am certain you have inspired others to challenge themselves as you moved through your journey. |

But it does look like you gave an oustanding effort and for that you deserve credit. ![]() Now give yourself some time to relax and recoup..and Happy Birthday |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am very touched that you all think enough of Brenda and I to have spent all of that time tracking us today. I had a very good race today. The weather was nearly perfect and the course was very fast and flat so I can't really say that "I" did all that good. It just seemed to be a great day for me to race. Below are the splits for the race, but I know many of you have seen them already. Thanks to all of you for the support you have given leading up to this race. Honestly was a little overwhelming to see how I finished. I could never have imagined placing and racing so well. My favorite part was being able to run through the finishing chute with my girls (and mini dachshund) beside me. I'll post a picture tomorrow of all of us coming through the chute. Thanks again for all of your support!
