I care too much about what people think, that's for sure.  I wish I could be more like my husband.  He said he couldn't care less about others' approval of the choices (outside of my approval).  He said they haven't got a clue as to what we do, so why care?  LOL

x2Jen, as long as you and your husband are on the same page that is all that matters. On top of that you are being a unbelievable example for your children! Oh, then the next best thing to all of that...you have all of our support

Jen - you can do it! You won't see that much difference in what you're currently doing except the weekends. (Or whatever day you decide to do your long bike and long run.) After you become an Ironman you can send your MIL a photo of you at the finish line - with a huge smile on your face!

Jen- I agree with everyone else. You are determined and have already proven a good balance between your children and training. As moms, we do a lot of invisible training when they are still sleeping. Except for weekends, probably not too much will change. My MIL is very judgmental as well but usually doesn't say anything right to me, just my husband. You will do great on this journey! We are all behind you!!

Its up to you and your husband to raise the kids and if you guys think/know you can do it while training for an IM that is all that counts.  Doesn't matter what others think because they really don't understand it, and probably don't understand the most of your training is done in the am before everyone even gets up.

Having kids doesn't mean life for you stops ... it just means you have to learn to balance, organize, prioritize, etc.  Its sounds like you do that just fine. And the lessons you are teaching your kids about discipline, fitness, accomplishing what you set out to do  and all of the above will be priceless.

Keep your head up ... you are already signed up, but you got an HIM on your plate right now.  Get mentally focused on that.  You will do AWESOME!

Gotta ask, why are they more apt to cancel a 70.3 and never an IM?  We had a 70.3/olympic cancelled this weekend because of rain.

Do not obsess.  Whatever it is, it is.  Weather is something you can't control.

Has more to do with the race management company / location than the distance.

Anyone recommend a good iphone app to track athletes?  We have about 15-20 racing next weekend and I need something more efficient than my manual checking.  Preferably what will give updates rather than my using data to get updates.

Carrie - you need to take a road trip. IMMoo is just one big party!

Jen - dont stress about the weather. As Kelly says, it's out of your control. And you never trust the weather channel.

Wow...my energy is coming back, and I am crazy anxious.  My body is feeling much better, and my soreness is going away.  Love it.  Took this as an opportunity to read a book.  Didn't take long to get through Catching Fire.....now reading Mockingjay.  Great entertainment!  Madge is sick with a cold, cough, and stomach bug, so I am home with her while all my guys head to a family picnic.  I felt a head cold coming on yesterday, but I think I may have prevented it from rearing its ugly head by getting some extra sleep last night.  I am washing my hands constantly, as I'm sure more kids will come down with this funky cold/stomach bug.

I am going up there, but still hard to keep track of everyone. There are already 14 that I count from our tri group and that is not everyone.

I know, weather channel keeps changing the forecast on me.  I don't think I'm going to take it seriously until Friday.  It will be much cooler than I had anticipated.

There are no good apps for ironman races.  At a lot of WTC races there are kiosks where you can check / track easier than on a phone.

Good morning!  Rest day for me.  Felt pretty decent in the pool yesterday (my last real swim before next weekend's race).  Chores, errands, and play with kids today

3k in the pool yesterday.  Trainer ride and run today.  Feeling pretty good about where I am training wise.  There is a sprint this weekend so I might go hang out and take pics of my friends who are racing.

Sounds like a doing work that's not training day, not a rest day.

My husband's aunt came over this afternoon and told me to go take a nap while she played with Gordie (Fred was already in his crib for nap time).  I wasn't going to argue with her
