Happy Friday!!

It appears that someone turned off the heat in the New York   I woke up to 36 degrees and nasty rain this morning...YUK!  And...it's supposed to be like this all weekend.  Lovely, huh?  We'll see what happens with my long run, but if it's still this cold and raining I think I'll be hoping on the treddy.  No need to chance getting sick now.

So I am on official hiatus from planned training for two weeks. I may do a run and bike in there but nothing planned. My semi week of eat anything I want comes to an end today. Cookie by the dozen and big fast cheese burgers for lunch have been fun while it lasted. I will be setting up my off season planning this week and will kick it off Sunday when I get back from Vegas. I have already decided I really want to do the same races I did this year just to see how much I improved. Then add in 1-2 races. I will keep the swim sessions up. I feel I ammaking some good improvement there and don't want to lose it.

Yah, it's 90 and raining here.

But they keep telling us the rain is goign to bring a "cold" front.

If it gets below 70 I'm breaking out my knee high boots.

I never thought of people in FL owning knee high boots....didn't think it got cool enough for them.  I've been sporting mine since early last month

Haha, I own the knee high boots from when I lived in the Midwest.

But a surprising amount of people here own them.  And uggs.  But remember, they also think that 60 is cold.  Like, winter coat cold.

Home sick today.  I have the funk.  Again.  Joy.

4 days til I leave for Austin & 6 days til race time......and I am ridiculously excited!!!  We''re talking kid-on-Christmas-Eve-excited.  I'm pretty sure I wasn't feeling this level of excitement before Timberman.  I don't feel the same pressure (which I placed on myself) this time around.  I really don't have any time/pace goals (not that I won't be watching the clock though , only qualitative goals and I just want to enjoy the day and have fun.....and then eat loads and loads of bbq.

I'm getting really excited too. Finishing my long ride yesterday made me realize how close it is! I got a nice farmer tan yesterday from biking in the middle of the day, hoping that fades by the weekend
