Yup.  I like to pretend I only keep him around for the sex, but really, he's a great guy.

Betsy0706 - 2009-10-21 1:41 PM AWH...that's awfully sweet of him!

Nicole83 - 2009-10-21 12:33 PM Hahaha, I heart you all.  Thank you.

Eric, not sure about those colors... but otherwise you guys are great.  Hehehe.

And Todd, thanks for the thought, but you can keep the stripper gram.    husband just called and told me he's making the trip home tonight to be with me... even if he does have to leave at 4 a.m. tomorrow to get to work on time.  LOL

I can't believe it's 5pm already....I'd love to know where the day went.  Sadly, still no end in sight for me again.

But guess what, Starbucks loves triathletes - http://www.starbucks.com/

The hourly countdown begins! Off to Austin tomorrow afternoon

I was going to wait until after the race to share this with you guys but since there's some fun videos/songs on the site to waste your day of work, no better time than now...

http://www.ironprep.com/motivational-videos-and-songs

I appreciate any good/bad feedback about the website, plans, pricing, whatever... The more fun part of the website will be up after Longhorn, I'll let you guys know when it is

Let me know of any videos/songs I left out, just made a quick list of stuff last night...

EvD took two doses of his 'c' elixir and crushed the 'horn!  And Kelli lets Austin know what nothern Triathletes are all about!  Great job to both of you!

Entertaining ride on Saturday and had a blast doing the Family Relay for the Firethorne Triathlon.

I put in my fastest race swim ever!  500m/8:45  In some cold water!  Had originally donned my swim skin, but then they said the water temp was like 70 ~ so I changes into the wetsuit!  Glad I did!

Jen had her best bike in windy conditions 15 miles / 56:19 - 16.0 avg & Tyler ran a 25:32 3 miler.  It was a lot of fun!  There were 29 relay teams ~ the most I have ever seen at any race ~ and several were stacked like we did at Tejas!  1 swimmer punched a 6:07 for 500m and 1 cyclist hit 15 miles in 33:00 - 26.7 avg!  Unreal!

Here's to a great weekend for all!

Vegas was great. We hung out at freemont the first night. Thursday night we got some VIP passes to the Voodoo lounge and rockstar energy drinks were putting on a party and the best part was the free drinks.   The voodoo is on the 53rd floor of Rio plus part of it is outside. You get a great view of the the whole strip from there. Friday night we went to the top of the eiffel at Paris and watched the fountain at the Venetian. Did some gambling and didnt lose too much. I think we actually made money gambling. We are already looking to go back in the summer.

Great photos!!  I'm slow on photos, but hopefully I'll have some posted by the weekend.

I won't be as slow on this RR as I was with T-man.  I'm SO HAPPY that I decided to do this race!  It was such a fun weekend all around!  I think my fitness was definitely at its peak in August, but I had a good day.  Overall time was 6:30 and change, so about 2 min slower than Timberman, but I felt good all day and nutrition was spot on this time.  I think I could have HTFU a couple times on the run (which was definitely harder than Timberman), but I'm happy with my day.  I can say with full certainty I have no interest in a full ironman and I don't see this changing anytime in the near future, but I can't wait to knock out some more70.3's.

The funny thing is last week I couldn't wait for a break and for my off-season to start, and as I was packing up to head home yesterday I could feel the post-race-depression setting in...which is now fully set in.

I'm with you on this one but thankfully next season will be here before you know it. Off-season is a fun time where a loss in fitness is expected/needed and focus on the small details and speed is a good change both physically and mentally.  I'm looking forward to a break from long bikes even though I love them and working on some running speed!

Your race was awesome and as we already talked about, it's very hard to maintain the same fitness level for two peak races. The best you can really hope for is a ~15% decrease in fitness.  You paced an excellent race and got the nutrition down which is a huge skill and limiter for most in 70.3s!

Props to Eric and Kelli this weekend!  You guys are rockstars!  Way to dominate a hilly course!

It was great to finally meet you Kelli and your mom!  She's a trooper!

Way to geaux Justin!  I'm sure the pup really appreciated the ride.    I'm not sure how you rode for 20 miles with her!  And now she has a nice safe home.  Oh - and glad you and the fam enjoyed the race.  Way to put up some speedy times!

I'm sure Vegas was sorry to see you leave Todd.  Glad you and the wife had a good time!

There may be a shortage of sushi in Vegas for the next few days. I hit Todai for thier buffet and I think I had enough fish to feed shamu for a week. It was greatness.
