I'd give it another go James, now you know what the class is all about your expectations are different. The stretching does really help with running etc plus you get to do something with your lovely wife

I just posted over on your RR and I'm just amazed.

I also checked out a couple of your albums and now I have a question:  Does your stomach look like that JUST from doing the perfect push-up?  I mean, I know you train for tris besides that, but I just gotta know!

LOL, Well thanks! I think the push-ups have a lot to do with it, but I also think all the swimming I do helps!

Greg, I was a little surprised at the 1st 2 mile run myself, I didn't go out to run sub 7 minute miles!!

I hope everyone is doing well.  I finally got a few minutes to get on here.  Was up in NY this weekend and had an awesome time (race report is up).  Got back late Mon than had to be back at work on Tue.  Won't get a chance to see how everyone has been doing until this weekend, but I will.  I haven't downloaded the trip pics yet either, so I'll take a look at them soon and try to post some.  Enjoy your week!

I'd just like to say I found a road yesterday with a bike lane that was as large as a car lane. It goes for about half my trip, so I will be able to ride more often (now that I feel comfortable).

I felt like I needed to brag.

Ok James, you got me motivated.  I finally put up some new pics from throughout the season including the recent trip to NY.

My training starts back up again tomorrow.  I've had my lazy time and after reading everyone's logs I am ready to get back at it.  Here in 2 weeks we are heading to San Diego for our anniversary so hopefully I won't let that derail me.

Tim, awesome pictures. I imagine running through the tunnel is wicked cool!

Michelle, thanks!  I know my wife would be happy to see your comments!  It will be our 3rd.  She has also been my best photographer!  Been there to take some pretty good pics.

And James...hey, when you put up "6-pack" pics you can't be picky about who throws out the compliments!    And actually, the tunnel was pretty freakin hot...haha, yeah it was a very cool experience.  The tunnel was almost 2mi long!  But in reality, even though it was 65 degrees outside, that tunnel was very hot with that many people and no breeze at all.  It felt great to get out of there into the cooler air.

Really great photos, Tim.  That first-tri smile takes a couple days to go away, but that's a good thing.  Your wife is beautiful, BTW.  And I mean that in a I'm-married-and-only-like-guys kind of way, just so we're clear.

ok, it's really starting to bother me. I don't know how to get back into regular training because work is so irregular (and exhaustive). I see all of you putting up amazing logs, and I'm really jealous. I've been doing more than my log leads on, but twice a week is too embarrasing to show.

So someone get me moving, because my heart has been too inactive lately.

Greg, man we all have busy lives. I have a wife, two kids and one on the way, also work some wierd hours, so for me, it takes planning. I tell my wife every morning what I want to do as far as traiing goes, and then ask what she has on her schedule and we work it out from there. Sometimes it means I have to get up early, early early to get a workout in, and if that is the case, then I know I need to get to bed early. So I make time for training because I WANT to train and get faster and in better shape and to meet my goals. To many of my friends say they would love to run but do not have the time. To that I say Bull*hit! You make time for the things you want bad enough.

    How was that? Motivated yet?

Tomorrow I am doing my first Dash N Splash. It is a 2 mile run followed by a 150 yd swim.  I am looking forward to this race but I think it will be weird running My goal time is under 17 minutes. then swimming, so I am anxious to see how it goes. After this race, it was my last scheduled event for 08. Completed 4 tri's, a duathlon, and a dash n splash, and I am feeling it.  I have to admit my body is alittle tired, so I am looking forward to going for steady runs, swims and rides. I plan on continuing the Sat morning rides through fall and winter, but will probably cut back on the swimming and biking for awhile, although I hate to lose any gains I feel I have had so far! Baby Jesse will be here before you know it, so we will have to see about training after that!

So Fresh So Clean - 2008-10-06 12:50 PM ok, it's really starting to bother me. I don't know how to get back into regular training because work is so irregular (and exhaustive). "Whoop-shaw!"  That's the sound of me slapping you on one cheek and then right back on the other.

Hey, at least you're doing something twice a week.  Don't let the pressure of all you should be doing overwhelm you, but let the knowledge that you'll finish something today encourage you.

Wonderful words of wisdom Lora; think I shall use them myself

Good luck tomorrow James - kick some butt!!

Greg; hope you have found your mojo again. What is on the horizon for you event wise??

Sunday I have the Melbourne Half Marathon (my second time running it) and  it is going to be hot - darn hot - 28 degrees. First hot day for the season and bang on event day, should be ok though I will be done before it gets hot.

I'm undercooked for the event as my running training took a steep decline in the last month or so with my dodgy hip. It is going to be a very tough day at the office indeed but hey, you only live once   Last time I did it in around 2:15 - if I match that I will be rapt, a revised goal to my sub 2 hour I still held out hope for only 2 months ago.

2 weeks after the half I have my first tri - just a fun short distance one but my first tri none the less and I am excited about it now. My daughter is doing the kids distance 100m S, 3k B, 1k R and I have also convinced my swimming buddy to do it with me which should be good fun. We plan to make a night of it and get a room close to the event and spend the night and have a girly night so it should be great fun.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone whatever you are doing.

Michelle:  Looking forward to reading your RR as well.
