Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers madkat - 2008-06-27 7:23 PM OK, I'm trying really. But the smoke around here has got out of hand, and I wasn't able to get a run in this morning. I'm going to try again this weekend. And I've already scheduled my last swim. And I've been doing my core workouts, but not blogging them (I do them just before bed, after the computer has already been turned off). So, I probably won't make my run goal, unless I can get a special dispensation on the whole smoke thing. But I'm on target for the other three goals. Hm.... Hm.... Let's see how it is tomorrow. However, if it's still smoky this weekend, then YES - Definitely let me know and I'll do a "special dispensation" for everyone affected by the smoke. (On any of the teams.) Running in that stuff would definitely be bad for your health! |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers I'm at 102% now. I will not get another ride or swim. Shooting for a 10-mile run on Monday. I feel badly that I'm not going to get the full 110% this month. My Y is closing for a week starting tomorrow, boo hoo. Guess I'll have to find a pond to swim in somewhere. Hope you are all putting in a great day of training! Captain Avenger |

I was hoping to get another quick trainer session this morning but we're packing to go away to the snow for the week and we went to a birthday bash last night. My mother babysat and stayed the night and she doesn't seem the least bit interested in leaving. So I'm not getting anything done!!! GRRrrrrr! I wont even get to see haow we wnt in this challenge as I'm off air til Friday. Give it all you've got team. |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers June Challenge Team Standings - Week #4June is now 97% completed. Only TWO MORE DAYS remain in the challenge! Here's how the teams stand, with just over a week to go:FIRST PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) - 92.7% SECOND PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos - 89.5% THIRD PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers - 83.0% FOURTH PLACE - Avatar Avengers - 79.5% With only TWO DAYS TO GO, we have a NEW CHALLENGE LEADER! Congratulations to the Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT)! June isn't over yet, but there are ONLY TWO MORE DAYS! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT! PLEASE UPDATE THE SPREADSHEET WITH YOUR FINAL TOTALS BY MIDNIGHT (LOCAL TIME), TUESDAY JULY 1st. Team captains: Please assist your team members with this, if needed. Special Note: If you dealing with "acts of nature," such as smoke from wildfires, and this is preventing you from training, please let me know. Depending upon your situation, you may request to revise your goals. And remember - You may now achieve 110% of your individual goals! This means you can challenge yourself even more, or help out teammates who may be struggling to meet their goals. For example: Your swim goal may now reach 110% Your run goal may now reach 110% Your bike goal may now reach 110% Your "other" goal may now reach 110% Each individual goal will be capped at 110%. (In other words, you can't do 125% of a goal.) This means that you could, conceivably, reach a "super achiever" 110% total. Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June? The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!" All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc. Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. - Dee |

Champion 6285 Beautiful Sonoma County | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers The smoke is clearing! Yay! I went for a 3+ mile run today. I plan on doing a 6+ miler in the morning tomorrow, and I already have a "date" to swim tomorrow evening. That's about as close as I'm going to get to my goal, it seems. |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Hi everyone! Things have been pretty crazy here. I had 2 bike wrecks last week and sprained my wrist pretty bad in the second one. I'm in a splint for a couple weeks and lots of RICE. I tried to swim after doing it and made things worse, so no swimming or biking for me for awhile. I've sent a PM to Dee about the situation to request dropping my bike and swim goals. I'm going to do a long run tonight and should be able to make my run and yoga goal. Also, had to make a last minute trip out of town for a motorhome purchase, but it's sitting in our driveway now ready to be loaded Great job everyone! Happy training! |

Master 1792 | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers I'm planning a swim and run today, so that should help out my overall average. Sorry about the slacking on the biking. Got a new car on the 18th that will not transport a bike yet...but I am going to order my hitch in the next day or two. And, I just plain suck at running. Although, my last 2 runs have been great, well partially great (see training log or explanation), I think I may have reached some kind of new fitness level there. Just need to keep going and stop quiting at 2 miles...it's just so dang hot (95ish usually) at 4:30 in the afternoon. |

Expert 1202 Montana | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers Just finished my last workout of the month. I did reach 110% on my run goals, but I only made it to 104% overall. Last week was my 'rest' week from training, but not from life. Our Bible Conference kept us hopping all week, and I only got 5-6 hours of sleep per night. We had a blast, though, and I did get 1 OWS. Master 1356 | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers well team, I was planning to ride the trainer today during the kiddos nap to at least get my bike to 90% or more, but my DD is ill so I spent the time offering comfort. My run and swim are ok... I'll do an extra core workout tonight to bring that to 110% instead. |

When I got home from my swim last night, my computer was kaputzo (Eric has since fixed it) but I wasn't able to update my spreadsheet info. I'll be sure to update it this evening. Roughly, though, I'm at 100% for swimming, and 110% for both cycling and core workouts , and somewhere near 75% for running. |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Avatar Avengers June Challenge FINAL RESULTSWow, this was a close challenge! EVERY team was over 90%! GREAT JOB, EVERYONE!And now the moment you've all been waiting for.......... FIRST PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) - 102.4% SECOND PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos - 98.8% THIRD PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers - 93.6% FOURTH PLACE - Avatar Avengers - 90.4% Congratulations to the Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT)! For the month of July, Team TNT will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!" And now for the other teams.... Since the team percentages were so high, I decided to look more closely at the spreadsheets. Kamikaze Geckos - if your lowest member's percentage is dropped, the team's average is 101%. Therefore, your team may NOT display the winning signature line, but there will be no "penalty avatar." Cheesecake Lovers - if your lowest member's percentage is dropped, the team's average is 97%. Therefore, your team may NOT display the winning signature line, but there will be no "penalty avatar." Avatar Avengers - if your lowest member's percentage is dropped, the team's average is 93%. Therefore, your team may NOT display the winning signature line, but there will be no "penalty avatar." Congratulations everyone! This is the first time since I started doing the challenges that EVERY TEAM has been over 90%! Great job! Have a great July! And if you want more challenges in July - check out the TdF Biking Challenge, and the Casual Run Challenge. Both threads are stickied to the top of the forum. - Dee |
