Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL so i found my race # but it's HIGHER than all the listed numbers, so i am guessing that means i am picking up between noon and 3? my friend that registered me is higher too, so i'll get a hold of her and see what she plans on doing, she lives in steilacom so she's closer than i am, but i have no idea what she's planning on doing. |

I really hate the stationary bike!!!! Luckily I called my LBS four days ago and had them ship out some replacement tubes for my tires. The heat here just kills them. Oh well that is enough @#$% from me; how is everyone else doing?? |

Oh well that is enough @#$% from me; how is everyone else doing?? Bummer about being stuck on the stationary bike. I hate having to use the trainer. More than an hour feels like torture. How much time do you have left in your deployment? Are you going to be getting away from the sand and the heat any time soon? I ended up with the day off from training. I had a swim planned this evening but work got in the way so I had to move it to later in the week. I've got a nice long bike on the plan for tomorrow. We've had a unusual run of cool, humidity-free weather so, Jimmy, I'll do a "perfect weather for a bike ride" lap for ya! |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL lyssa-gator - 2008-08-12 12:16 PM slugger (i'm so sorry i don't know what your real name is! ) you should just TRY running in the pouring down rain, it can be QUITE refreshing! i've converted many a bt-er on here to LOVE running in the rain, it COULD have something to do with the whole "western washington" thing, but i doubt it. Ah, I found out this summer (third wettest on record and still pouring hard for the foreseeable future!) that I do like running in the rain. See my whines about my poison ivy, though - I have a lot of scabs and healing wounds on my legs that make me think getting soaked through isn't a good idea. Also, the rain has been the pelting, almost-hail, kind. Ouch. Not the soothing, drenching, all over kind. Yum. BUT, all that said, I DID go for a run, and it was awesome! I think I ran about a 25 minute mile (okay, I exaggerate just a teensy bit), but it was so good to be out and running! I took an unexpected nap and woke up to the SUN streaming in! For the first time in days! So off I went. It spat a bit while I was out there, not even enough to get my shirt all the way wet, but it was awesome. At least it was cool, around 68 or so, so no sticky-heat-humidity thing. I'm going rock climbing tomorrow if the rain holds off again, and then another run. I'll be back before I know it! Oh, and more pushups and ab work, too. Whee! |

Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL Well today I got out of bed early, though I really would have rathered not to, and ran 12.05 miles. It started out as a not too good of a run, but after the first couple of miles it turned into a really good run. Not really fast, but just a nice enjoyable one. Plus I found some new trails to run on located within the base. |

Lyssa. I think I am picking Rachel up around 11ish (She doesn't know this yet) Our numbers can't pick up till noon but I want to get as much free stuff as possible!
Today I am going to bike! BIKE! Even for only half an hour! My backside misses it!
Then I might attempt that 2nd buoy again and this time NOT swallow half the lake. |

Then I might attempt that 2nd buoy again and this time NOT swallow half the lake. ok, free stuff?!?!? tell me more. i love free stuff!! do i need to plan on getting there earlier?? my plan as of right now is that i have to be at the bike shop when they open at 10 sat morning (in tumwater) they're putting my new derailluer hanger on (how the HECK do you spell that crazy word?!?LOL) and i'll have them pump up my tires and what have you, then i'm booking straight up to the meydenbauer center, so if traffic isn't really bad, i should be there just before noon. if i can hook up with you somewhere before that, we only have to pay for parking once-but either way, i'm looking for you once i get up there. also sunday morning, maybe can i hook up with your carpool?? am i viciously out of the way?? i can get myself there, but it'd be cool to hook up with you and go with. let me know what we're doing. i still haven't been able to get a hold of my friend that i'm doing it with. i told dh today that i don't want him to come with me this weekend, he's just being too negative, and he's messing with my head. he said he's going to try to change my mind, but whatever, i really want to have fun this weekend, and i think i'll have more fun if he stays home. |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: August Challenge (Run,Swim,Bike, Weightloss, and/or Other) - CASUAL Way to go, telling him to back off. Big kudos. No need for negativity, and hopefully this will be a wakeup call for him that he's being a jerk. He's probably nervous for you, and that's where this is coming from, but still, it is YOUR race, YOUR body, YOUR fun. He needs to get with the program or get out. Hopefully he'll decide he was a bad boy, buy you flowers and non-calorie-containing bon bons, and come out with big ol' pom-poms ready to cheer madly for you, even if you DO get pulled form the swim (which won't actually happen, I'm just sayin'). Or, he'll realize he can't keep his trap shut, and he'll have a fantastic (and completely healthy or unhealthy, depending on what you want) dinner waiting for you when you get back. Rock climbed, ran, soaked up the sun. YAY!!!! |
