Is that like some kind of new drink?

No I don't, I'm afraid my tight muscles would break.

We have a class at the gym that incorporates ti-chi, yoga and pilates.  It's a great class to go to if you really want to stretch your body out.  I haven't taken it in a few months, but should probably do it once a week.  At some studios they crank up the heat and do a "hot yoga" and you sweat your #$%$ off... we're talking drenched.

Had a great day today. Had my second sleep test, this time with the CPAP machine. While I still don'y feel like I got a good night sleep I had more energh than ever. Ran tonight when I got home from work, I can't remember tha last time I was able to exercise after work. The short run I did on Saturday I repeated tonight but I was able to go further this time before I had to will myself to get to the half mile mark. Walked back about half the way then was able to finsh up the rest running. Starting out I noticed my heart rate was 77 BPM, my last doctor's appointment my resting rate was 88-89. And I took a whole minute off my time for the run.

I know this is nothing like any of your times or distances but I'll take any victory no matter how small Oh yeah thanks for everyones help and support it really helped me quite a bit.

Seeing as I'm not swimming right now that shouldn't be an issue for me, might even help a bit when I do start again. I am interested in finding out how it effects the others though. I also seen a link on that page for 200 sit-ups that I'm thinking of doing on the same days as the push-ups

I'm such a loud mouth, love my music pumping loud and hard, must be moving, moving fast... I've tried yoga, but it's too quiet for me... though I read about this power yoga class at a gym at Flat Iron Crossing in Longmont/Boulder one time that sounds really interesting...maybe next time I'm in Denver???

Can I have a short moan please?!

As you know I had a cold. I thought it was getting better...

...I thought I was a wee bit breathless last night, but ignored it, thinking it was my imagination. Well, I woke up this morning feeling about 110 YO. I ended up at the Docs and I've got bronchitis and a slight pnuemonia! Antibiotics and off work for a week and NO exercise for "at least that - 'til the cough goes away!"Yell (I'm a bit grumpy!)

I hope you lot keep exercising as much as you have, 'cos the group average is gonna drop otherwise!Wink

I'd complete the antibiotics and let them do their job without any other physical stressors before even trying to get back in the game.
But on the good side you can spend all that extra time post padding researching training techniques

I do just a bit of coach prescribed yoga, mostly to stretch problem areas.

Her routine only takes 10-15 minutes.  Mostly poses that stretch the hamstring, quads, calves, piriformis, and lower back.  Seems to work better than traditional stretching and is much more relaxing.

Oh, January goals--something new and unusual for me, do all of my planned training!  I already blew it this weekend due to getting a really bad cold.

I've seen that thread in the challenge forum and have always told myself some day.... Maybe tomorrow will be that day.  I have copied and pasted the link into my log.  I would love to see results with a well sculpted shoulder, arm.

In my life before Tri-ing, I was a sea kayaker with mountain biking in the off season (still am!) - one sport tightens your hamstrings and the other requires loose, ultra-flexibility, so I've always done loads of stretching.

When I was at uni, I did a lot of weights and ended up very strong and muscley, but totally inflexible - now I'm trying to find some balance (and peace and quiet from the kids!Wink)

I reckoned the Yoga thing would help with flexibility and quietly start some core stability training which I badly need as well! (It's only 11/2 hrs a week)

You're only doing as much as you're able to with the hundredpushups thing and it's working the same (deltoid?) muscles in your shoulders as you use swimming - so it'll help... (You can probably do 100 straight off anyway, so don't pretend otherwise!Wink!)

Taught my first yoga class today at the new Y. It's been a while and I was really nervous but as soon as I got started it was a breeze. So now I will be adding 2 days of yoga to my routine! Yeah! I know how important it is with all this training. As soon as I get a new swimsuit (can't find the one I had...must have gotten lost in the move) I'm getting in the pool! I've decided to at leat try one tri this year because I won't know if I like them or not if I don't! Plus I'm really stoked on Xterra. OK, I'm exhausted today, time to relax a bit before the girls wake up from nap. Maybe a shower....mmmm.
