i cant say enough about the healing properties of water.

48 min swim.

just what i needed.

took it easy.

imprinted some things that i learned at the stroke clinic.

have no idea what my total yardage was, but i did manage a 600-800 yd continuous freestyle swim, albeit slow, plus a bunch of things thrown in.

heck i even manage to swim 50 yds of butterfly WITH fins.  woot!  and did about 6-8 flip turns whilst i swam some freestyle lengths, yeah me!

a good swim, all things considering...

moving on.

Good for you on the swim Stacie! I take that to mean you are on the bounce-back!! Yea!

I agree 1000% about the water, sometimes even just floating around can ease the body and the soul!

have a great day sweetie!

Got my run in, 6.53 miles. Woo hoo. Very slow, but that's what it takes on the Injury Come Back Train. My hip/leg feels OK, some stretching and icing later.

All is good!!!

an unbelievably stunning day today.

the dog is out on the deck 'sunning' herself.

i dont have the heart to bring her in.

as soon as she does, of her own accord,

im heading out on my bike.

id like to go to the lake, but dont want to spend the time in my SUV.

id rather ride instead.

hoping everyone is having a happy today!

hello okra-ites.

as if the cruds earlier werent enough to get the week off on the wrong foot, now i have contracted a nasty case of athlete's foot, that has all but engulfed my poor littlest piggy-toe.

i went to the Dr cuz a) the sprays/creams ive been using the past 3 days didnt seem to be helping and b) it developed these god-awful blisters and the whole toe, albeit little, was becoming red and inflammed.

the doctor gave me some scripts, but thought after a little more time the OTC med would work....then she said to try and keep that area dry.

that just made me literally LAUGH OUT LOUD.

uhm.  you know im a triathlete right?

yes.

im in a perpetual state of wet, every day.

wet from sweat.

wet from swimming.

wet from showering.

aye.  theres the rub.

im actually surprised this hasnt happened to me sooner, considering all the places my feet touch.  ok just gross when you start thinking about it.

im glad that it seems 'limited' just to the one piggy.  ive seen the online pictures/how bad it can be.  you need a strong stomach to look at some of those photos.  ICKY-poo.

FUNGUS OR NOT, i will NOT be deterred.  the cream seems to be working already, so i was able to do my ride today w/out issue.

im planning on swimming tomorrow.  flipflops from here on out, on the deck, in the locker room and showers.

then ill try for my long run on Friday.  which leaves me a long ride, and speedwork as 'essentials'.

Saturday will most likely be my long ride.....as to how long will be, we shall see.

that will leave Sunday for speedwork.  8x400 intervals.  WOOT.

then a nice taper before the COOK FOREST RIDE and THE GREAT RACE 10K awaits.....

w ALL the CRAZY-goings-on this week, i think trng is coming together well, inspiteof.

I'm only solo for a couple more days.  The childcare issue would have happened anyway.  Thank goodness I'm teaching Spinning tonight!  I think I'll make it extra hard so I can get my frustrations out!  ~evil laugh~
