I am pretty happy this week. I know i have a weekend of perhaps a little too much drinking/eating but I am hoping to stay active enough to at least stay where I am. Congrats to everyone who lost this week!

GOAL: 130/25
Starting Weight/BF: 141/27
Last Week: 139/26
Today: 138/26

I'll take it ~ at least it's a step in the right direction!

Tip for the week: Focus on portion size/control!  I have taken to measuring my food and am slowly learning what appropriate portions for me actually look like.  Here is a link with some tips for both home and eating out.

Great job to everyone this past week!  Keep it up ~ even when we slip up we can pick ourselves right back up and learn from it!!

Can I revise my weigh-in?  I was very relieved to see that I was back to "normal" this morning:
151.5/151/140
I hope to create a downward trend until my big race on Nov. 7!

EDIT: Sorry - proper format...

Goal - Sub 20% bodyfat
Start - 31%
Current 24%

Have been working hard and have bot my Bodyfat down by 7% so far... 24%, so I'm nigh on "normal" Whatever that is
I fear the next half of my goal will be a little more of a struggle.

Well done thus far all,
regards
K

I am about 1 month late, but thought I join you guys. Start weight 222. Goal weight 215. I will be pretty happy if I can acheive that for Xmas and then focus on losing another 15 lbs in the next three months.

no no no no no

going away for the weekend, pizzahut, golden corral, red rock canyon grill.

you can see where this is going, this is NOT the way to keep on track for christmas goal and the holiday season really hasn't started yet.

Just plan a little and have some discipline, stick to fishes, salads, chicken, turkey, steamed vegetables, etc. Even at wendy's you can get a Large chili, side salad, ice tea for about $5. Going into Buffets and Pizza joints is just asking for added weight, those places are where you want to go to carb up, not loose weight!

I know I'm not quite in sync with timings but only have access to my scales at weekends, so here is my update:

Start: 201lbs (1st Sept)
Goal: 175lbs

Current: 187lbs

I have broken my poor snacking habit now and simply reach for fruit and veg when I need something. I have got portion size under control and best of all am succeeding in my exercise and improved diet when living away in hotels every week. That was one of the key factors for me and I am creating healthy habits in that area. Its tough, but worth the struggle. BF as measured by my Tanita has dropped from 24% to 20% first thing in the morning, as a relative measure only.

Best of all is the visible change, with 5cm off my waist and a clear reduction in my spare tyre and the fit of all my clothes. Even my wife keeps telling me what a difference she sees!

Keep pushing it everyone and remember its not about a single meal or day even, but persevere and change those habits. Look forward to seeing continued success from everyone here!

Thanks Karla!  I went to the doc today and luckily it is NOT a sinus infection but he did put me back on permanent meds for my chronic sinus issues.  I'm not thrilled about it but at least I know it works as I was on them for years before moving here.  For some reason they have chosen to reappear!  Aaaand, I REFUSE to be sick next weekend!!   You getting excited for your HIM?

Congrats Damon, that is GREAT!!!!  I agree that it isn't about a single meal/day it's all about the permanent changes that you make over time.  Keep it up!!

thanks

I am kind of stuck with a dilemma really. When I train regularly I can muster the willpower to eat well and stop snacking. Its easy to refrain as I feel it negates my efforts. The challenge though is if I'm not training - then its really hard to stop myself eating too much... It means I need to be a little obsessive about keeping exercising at least at a low level most days.

I'M BACK....YES!

I am sorry everyone for not being as active as I should be on here.   I've had a terrible last two weeks with my youngest having H1N1, then losing my Great Grandfather, then me getting sick.  It seemed to go on and on.  But,...feeling better.  And I weighed in yesterday at the gym and I am now at 192.  Well, it's possibly 191.5 but I'm stating 192.  So I'm down from 196 (4 pounds)!  For me, that's near impossible.  Funny thing, even sick, I never really lost my appetite, so I can't say it was the illness.  Whatever, I'm happy.

That is difficult.  For me I have to make a conscious effort to cut back on my calories on the days I don't work out as hard ~ the problem being is that I feel just as hungry!  Like you, I make it a point to do SOMETHING everyday even if it's just stretching or walking a bit more throughout the day.

Christy, there is no need to be sorry...You and your family have been going thru some really hard times!  I've been thinking about you but unfortunately I am still trying to find balance with all that I have recently taken on and unfortunately that means BT has taken somewhat of a backseat for the moment.  With that being said, you are still in my thoughts and prayers and I am really glad that you are reaching your goals even with all that is going on!!!

And even better - I have set up the trainer in the basement (so I have no excuses for not riding) and have raised my base mileage for run. Now to make it through Halloween and all the funsized Butterfingers calling my name. Any suggestions (other than sending the leftovers to my spouse's work)?

Started at  195
1st week   191
2nd week  190.5
3rd week   189
4th week   191

Ouch!!!!!!!! I weighed in yesterday morning at 189 and today at 191, WTF ??????????

Need help....... I have logged my food all week and need help trying to dial in my diet as I am still learning. It would be most helpful to me if I can get some feedback and make some necessary adjustments. My diet goal is 1800 cals a day with a 50%prot/30%carbs/20%fat guideline set by my training program based on calculated BMI. From what I can see Im short on fat cals and a little over on my protien and carbohydate, also I think im taking in too much tablesalt as I am craving it big time. I am not binging or am I eating anything unhealthy, however I am eating white rice in place of brown because I cant stomach brown rice, I would rather eat raw fish guts! All of my workouts are loggged also,I would be thankful for any feedback!
