I always HATE that. Getting the bags all packed this evening and getting ready to go. Gotta get things in shape for the house- kitty sitter. Oh yah..... and work. Drop the dog off at my place. The cat can fend for itself. The dog would NOT love to fly and now we have 3 cats so they really can't fend for themselves. Or rather, they could but I would really like a home to come back to. 3 cats? You aren't becoming a CAT LADY are you?
NOOO!!! no CAT LADY.... We had one. Then Jim's dad died and we inherited his cat. The the "Summer people" dumped a cat and he is really nice so....... It happens every year. People come up here for the summer, get a pet. then go home and leave it here. You know they are doing the same thing there. It is beyond comprehension. We usually take the poor things to the no-kill shelter but this one, well........ My poor dog! |

Every now and then there will be an adult cat left behind. It's really sad for the adult cats because it seems like most of them have been house cats previously and they don't know how to fend for themselves in the barn. We feed and water them, but it isn't the life they were used to. I am not a cat person, but that's just a cruel thing to do to an animal. |

The little buggers are used to regular food, water and a safe place to sleep and then POOF! They are in the wilderness. I wish I could take those people and drop them in the middle of the Serengeti with just the clothes on their backs and see how they like making it through the night while lions are roaring. (Gotta have the clothes on cuz most of those folks I am sure are not worth looking at nekkid!) |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Happy Ghouliversary! Pick your poison in the month of October When I was in college there was a woman with whom I had several classes. She was older, married, had kids, and they had cats they would be inside/outside cats. One spring she asked me if I could take some kittens for the farm. I told her I would, so I took them with me one weekend and they became barn cats. The next year she asked me if I could take some more. I told her I would, but I encouraged her to get her cats fixed if they were going to be outdoors. She said she would. The next spring she asked me to take some more kittens. I told her no, and that she really needed to get her cats fixed. I don't know what happened to those kittens. |

Champion 6656 | Subject: RE: Happy Ghouliversary! Pick your poison in the month of October HI!! Been busy in rural. I like my preceptor out here. He doesn't teach a whole lot unless I ask questions but he lets me have the first crack at figuring out management rather than dictating to me what we should do with the patients. On call tomorrow so I'm going to make some jambalya for dinner tonight so I can have leftovers for tomorrow and maybe sunday. Nealsy has the marathon this weekend and then is coming to Edmonton in less than 2 weeks!! Yay! |

I haven't looked at the weather report for DC yet, but PA is calling for 6-10" of snow late tonight into tomorrow evening. We don't get snow before Halloween. With the crazy weather we've had this year though anything is possible. |

How is the world treating you lately? Not going to complain. Work is crazy but all for good reasons. Feeling left out of all the running fun, but it is what it is. There are worse problems in the world. How about you? Busy. Next week is the last week of soccer, and my daughter's running club, so things will slow down a bit then. I got my second injection at the pain clinic yesterday. This time she did an epidural injection instead of the steroid. Except for the injection site my back feels really good. I had forgotten what it was like to not be in pain. I could bend over this morning to pick up my shoes, and to tie them. I need to remember to not be stubborn, and just go to the clinic from now on. |
