It's that time again: to post your monthly totals!!

This is totally optional. You can use it to brag, to motivate yourself, to help us help you better in the next month

January's totals:
Bike:1h 56m  - 15 Mi
Run:18h 39m 55s  - 109.1 Mi
Hashing:1h 00m
Yoga:1h 00m

Posted a good running number, but now it's time to get back on my bike and back in the pool! Oh, and back off the running a little, too

O.K. Elaine, I have a basic understanding of what hashers are (drinkers with a running problem etc.) but what exactly is the act of hashing?  Is that, one hour of running + drinking alcholic beverages etc.  And how much of that hour was spent actually running vs. other activities?

Ha! Sometimes I'll wear my GPS and run the whole hash. Then, I'll count it as running. Sometimes, I'll run/walk/climb fences/be social, and then I count it as "hashing".

We meet in a parking lot - maybe have a beer or two. The "hare" leaves about 15 minutes before the pack, and they leave a trail of flour and/or toilet paper. The pack tries to follow the trail. Around the halfway mark, everyone stops for a beer! It usually dumped in a bush somewhere before trail starts as a trash bag full of ice and beer The hare lays trail back to the start, and the pack, or the "hounds" follow. Then, there is drinking, singing, and some poking fun at other hashers. That's about it

I'm glad someone asked about the hashing!!! i think I want to be a hasher one day one race!!!

As for January stats:

January's totals:
Run:2h 44m 15s  - 31.74 Mi
Swim:3h 50m
Crossfit:14m 54s
Kickboxing:50m
Spinning Class:1h 00m

Pretty sad. But on to the next month!!! Putting it together like this really puts it into perspective. The winter is such a hard time to train. I just want to sleep in!

Hashing  isn't a race - it's just for fun  http://www.gthhh.com/ see if there is a group in your area and show up!

Sometimes winter is good for a little recharging! Go get in in February!

ramiedd - 2012-01-31 8:26 PM Totals for January Swim: 1600.00 Yd - Bike: 9h 04m 55s Run: 85.22 Mi - 12h 29m 07s So my totals for the month are interesting in my mind for a few reasons. 1. Swimming is a discipline which is more difficult for me to schedule and I expected to do more of it, but I am just going to have to live with a few workouts a month. Still feel comfortable with my ability to swim the 1.2 mile on a HIM. 2. Biking was mostly on the trainer or spinning class. being a cyclist I can start adding more aggressive miles once our group rides start next month without concern for injuries etc. 3. Running is a shocker for me because I went from a total dislike for running, to enjoying it. Last month I celebrated 50 miles or so total for the month and can't believe I got 85 miles this month. I know that is not much for serious runners, but for me, it is a huge step in the right direction. Overall, I feel good about where I am in my training for a HIM in late April.

That is HUGE! And AWESOME! You're definitely set up for strong showing at your HIM if you keep this progress up!

Pretty mellow month for me; happy with the numbers especially with taking the week off before school started.  Finally working out the new schedule and it looks like I have some solid time built in for training, the hard part will be keeping up with school work

January's totals:
Bike:1h 11m 04s  - 18.48 Mi (not including 8 mile commute every MWF)
Run:3h 02m 56s  - 22.67 Mi
Swim:4h 41m 31s  - 14300 Yd
Trigger Point:3h 35m

School should definitely be your top priority. Training should help to keep you sane and balanced though

That is SO EXCITING! My last roommate went to fire school here, and he loved it. He really excelled, and I'm sure you can, too. Study hard!

It is kind of a wierd story here.   We had the typical political scandels and they were letting in friends into the academy not by test scores.   All the people have been removed this last year and we are starting over.    It makes me wonder what happened to my first two rounds of testing,  did I get dropped because they knew someone else and wanted them in.   If not it is a fair playing field now.    I did the 1.5 mile run to see who had to get on a PT regiment for the physical test.   Goal time was 12 min.   I finished in 9:56.

On the mobility WOD   I really use the hip stretch and the ankle stretches.

What does everyone have going on this weekend?
No races for me. A long training run with friends tomorrow morning. Then maybe a bike ride and a swim!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well, if I wake up in time... MTBing with the Xterra Miami race director and a few others on Saturday, and a 31 mile charity road ride on Sunday!

Also spectating/volunteering at a friend's CrossFit competition, going to a hockey game, going to Jazz Brunch, and possibly a super bowl party.

Hopefully sneaking in a swim somewhere, too. I miss the pool!!

I am really hoping to get a good bike ride tomorrow and a run on Sunday. Of course it all depends on the weather and how far I get into my never ending honey-do list.

I feel like my running is progressing slowly, but the right way as I am trying to build without injuring my self. But I do need the biking to catch up. Lets see what I get done.
