Member 16 Atlanta, GA | Subject: RE: Introduce yourself: Georgians Name: Charles Myrick Age: 36 Hometown: Baltimore, MD City\Town: Atlanta, GA Favorite Training Places: In the woods Triathlons Completed: 0 Current Goals: Xterra SE Championship & any 12 /24 hour mtn bike race I can get! Obviously I'm not the 'normal' triathlete, heck, I'm not one until I do a tri race, right?! Anyway, I train like a triathlete just to keep it interesting and mix things up and I've been wanting to do a tri so I figure why not this year. This spring has been a blur to me for personal reasons and I'm blowing off my planned race schedule for the year which included a 5-race 12 hour mtn bike series just to do something different this year. I doubt there'll be any HIM or IM distance races for me unless they're in the woods and I haven't seen anything longer than the Xterra Championship courses so I'll do one of those finally (if I can get some motivation back soon to get back in the pool). So....greetings and thanks in advance for the tips, entertainment, and such. |

BT will be especially useful to you since you may not have that many triathletes near you (but you may be surprised). |

Pro 3705 Vestavia Hills | Subject: RE: Introduce yourself: Georgians Hey Michael, welcome to BT. As you can see from this thread there are a lot of Atlanta area triathletes. There are plenty of group training opportunities. You might want to also check out a tri-club as well, such as the North Atlanta Multisport Club or Peachtree Tri Club. And, yes, a road or tri bike will make a huuuuge difference! mac8191 - 2010-08-06 2:32 PM Name:Michael Calendine |
