Yay 22 mile bike ride brings me to 34 % in biking.. off to a decent start overall.

Tracy actually I have not done any tri's yet I am a newb so I have not been to any of the Oregon Tri's. So if you started in 2006 I'm roughly 2 years behind ya. I am still trying to figure it all out atm. And endurance doesn't build so fast when you haven't done any consistent exercize in like too long.

First sprint tri scheduled for next month.

However, I am looking forward to doing some Tri's (sprint distance at first) in Oregon this spring. Most of the Oregon locations are closer than the CA locations for some odd reason.

geez!! i'm gone for ONE day, and you got all chatty! owl girl! you're my new friend!! a girl runner!! so excited!! i used to live in bend, OR when i first got married, but i wasn't in to racing at the time, but it might be a fun place for us all to meet up in the spring?? (dh would love it--he's a fly fishing junkie-and a river rat!) just PLEASE before it gets so FREAKING hot there. i remember walking to work one day when i lived there, and i passed a bank, and the dang thing said 126F i'm not sure if i've EVER been that close to death, and i have three kids!!

ok. so we have much runners (most of which are faster than me) and much fellas, and much chattiness!! i'm liking this team more and more all the time!! yay hippos!!

ok, i rode the blasted bike after that pitiful run this morning. i only rode for like 30 minutes tho-i just freaking detest that thing, i'm going to have to get on it, and just go until my heart stops or something, just to get used to it. stinky thing that it is. maybe if i spend the $ and get a really beautiful road bike, then i'll like it more. maybe the $$ will motivate me to get on it?? just a thought.

cat--you gotta get OFF bt, and start logging some workouts woman!!!

Sorry I have been lacking in the chatty department, as I have been kicking in the workout department. Also, working a couple hours of overtime at my real job, and about 10 hours at my part time job....does not give alot of time to hang out here

I'm at:

20.1 bike = 34% of goal
10.2 run/jog/walk = 26% of goal
2000 yards swim = 40% of goal

So that puts me at 33.3% of goal, awfully happy with that.

Hey team.

Not doing so bad here... I think I'm about at 25%:

2/8 swims
2/8 runs
1/4 bike/stationary bike
1/5 core or weights

Bad news is, I'm getting sick, but I hope to get in another run, swim, and core this week.

I'm not shy about posting leg pics, but I don't know what I can come up with. It might strike my wife as, you know, odd to ask her to take a picture of my legs to share with the ladies on the Internet.

Have a great day all.

ok ok, i'm getting flak about the leg thing.
you don't have to post a leg pic. no one has to post any pic at all.
IF you are proud of your legs, by all means--post them. you'll get affirmation all over the place.
IF your proud of your arms, abs, shoulders, heck-eyebrows. post that. no one has to post, if you CHOOSE to post, it can be whatever you're proud of.

i've never thought i had anything so wonderful in the leg dept, but after posting, and the affirmation that followed, i reccomend posting. it's good for the ego

go hippos go!!

Thank goodness this "week" goes from the 1st to the 11th!!! I don't think I'll have much trouble getting 8 more minutes of exercise in the next couple of days! Wow! I think that just boosted my morale! I'm feeling a little under the weather so that is a great pick-me-up.

So, what are the dates of our other weeks? I know I read it in the thread somewhere, but now I can't find it.

Lyssa, I'll chat with you more later. So happy you are a runner! Us runner girls need to stick together and show off our HOT runner legs!!! Yes, that photo will be coming soon.

Cheers to Team Hippo!!!!!

Heya guys...you all are rocking...can't believe how much some of you have accomplished already.

I'm right on track:

Walk/Run: 5.93 miles (20% done)
Swim: 1 hour 56 seconds (20% done)
Weights: 53 minutes (30% done)

Yesterday I upped the run to a whopping 4 minutes...managed to do 3 of that in one shot...probably would have pushed for the full 4 but it was so danged cold and my throat was getting sore so decided to not push it. Hopefully tomorrow I can give it a shot...it not then this weekend.

Today's swim was a vast improvement on Sunday's first swim in a few years...did the same length and basically took the same time to complete the 1100 yards. But I did it all in 50 yard intervals (last time was almost all 25 yard intervals) and even finished up with 2 intervals of 75 yards...and I was in the pool about 25 minutes less so my breaks were alot less than Sunday....we'll see if I can improve again on Friday but it might be hard after all these harder workouts...we'll see.

And did I mention I've lost 10.5 pounds in 3 weeks? Which, seeing as how week 2 I totally went off program and gained a few pounds, is quite good. Gotta be all the exercise because I'm not always eating well.

Definitely getting the exercise bug and having these goals for the challenge is such great motivation. Helps me to get out of bed or get to the pool when I'd rather go home and sleep.

Keep it up Hippos!!
