(ACGRay is in the location where Gail used to be.) This keeps you at 16 members. AND it gives you another southern CA person, who is also doing their first challenge. Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread zipp1 - 2007-11-09 2:52 PM just checking in with everyone...no major plan except to stretch thesetight hams and calves out and get ready for my 8 K. Yanti, I'm looking at a half mary in mid March followed 3 weeks later by my annual 10K. Do you think those races are too close? I'm thinking it would be do-able but I'm not sure if it's more of a suicide by running WOO HOO! Super good luck at the 8K, Judi! Yeah, the races are a little close, but if you do a sweet taper in between them it would probably put you in perfect form for the 10K, actually. It's just important to keep the running in between fairly minimal/moderate and SLOW, not too frequent, either. |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread Okay, Super Corp Kids ... I posted this in the before-n-after thread and also some random enemy camp , but I wanted to share the inspiration with you guys. As the cool cats on this team from October know, I recently hit my 100-lbs-lost mark, and now another milestone: 40 lbs lost this tri season, since I've been on BT. As Judi knows--it feels weird! Here's some stats and pics:

Expert 974 Encinitas | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread Hello! Thanks for having me in your team. I guess I will go ahead and put in my intro, Real name: Andrew Location: Beautiful San Diego Tri experience: I've only really trained for 1 triathlon ever, that was earlier this summer, and my training still wasn't all that great (I have done 3 others but on a very social basis with 0 training). I am a TERIBBLE swimmer, not all that good on a bike, but I can run pretty fast at least. Running is definitely my strong point, I even work for a running store! Goals: I'm shooting for 100 miles on the bike and 50 miles on foot. With Thanksgiving and some traveling I have to do this month it's definitely going to be a challenge for me, but I am looking forward to it! How I got into it: Well, I love running and I'm pretty good at it. I also love biking, and I thought I was decent at it, until I did my first race and everyone was blowing by me like I wasn't moving! Either way I figured if I could just figure out the swimming thing these triathlons sound like fun. I was right about that part, they are fun, I am totally addicted now, I can't get enough!!! Well, time for me to head out and log a few miles on a hash run! |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread Morning all...Unofficial time on the 8 K 49:14. I did that course in 49:12 last year and felt like it was fast then. This year I felt like I was slow but just didn't have the legs to go faster. Felt kind of nauseas around mile 3 but just kept running cause I knew I wasn't going to hurl. Had MAJOR hip flexor cramp at the finish while getting my chip off. Still stretching that out. It was butt-azz COLD out there. Overcast about 40 degrees, with some rain last night. When we were headed home the leaders from the marathon were at mile 19 (DAYUM, they only started 35 minutes ahead of us these guys were SMOKIN" RR will go up once I get the official time--which will be late this afternoon if the posting is like last years race. BTW, last years time made the top 100 for the AG and was in the paper so I'm hoping for a repeat. I figure I'll be just over 4 hrs if I do the mary next year (that is if my pace stays the same) |

Expert 851 Oceanside, CA | Subject: RE: Hard Core Tri Corps (Team 8) Thread Way to go Judi! Just getting out there in that weather sounds like a great accomplishment to me! Can't wait to see the official results. I bet they're better DH comes home today. I feel like crappola. I'm so tired! I'm so glad it's a 3-day weekend for me. I have an obligation to get completed and in the mail on Tuesday and then my stress-factor should drop a bit and I can focus more on my upcoming race. |
