I'm mostly worried about the bike miles. Trying to get them in before June in Minnesota is TOUGH...just means a LOT of time on the trainer (ugh) and spin classes (O.K., depending on the instructor...where's Mila?)... Guess what, my outside upper arm is sore so I must be doing something new and different and maybe a little right!! Swam last night and up to almost 3 hours out of 11. If my girls want to swim tonight at the Y I'll drill and they'll play. Tomorrow I'm trying to be brave and go to the Masters. I'm still getting all goofed up with the new swimming but am catching myself doing a few things right and also working on one thing and then going oops I'm screwing this up. A bit of over thinking perhaps. |

I just slapped you upside the head with a foam noodle. Now march yourself to the pool to swim some laps before I whip out the old lady bathing cap with a chin strap and beat you with that! BunnyB - 2007-12-07 12:36 AM I got in another half hour in the pool tonight after work. Sorry for not posting earlier in the day. I'm just not feeling very chatty today. Hey M! 1/2 an hour of swimming beats a 1/2 hour of posting! Good job on getting to the pool... I, on the other hand missed my swim yesterday . I woke up early to find a white elephant gift for the work holiday party (one of my son's old bubble machines) and to pick something up for the potluck (No. I didn't prepare anything...I've been busy ). Also had an all day training mtg that started early...so... Bring it on Reindeer...I missed a swim workout yesterday...I

Expert 1112 I'm a Tennessee girl living in SoCal. | Subject: RE: Rebellious Reindeer Well, sign me up with those who prefer running over swimming, too. Sorry Beth, I know how much you do love the purple. Me -- not so much. Like Kristen, I'm mostly just swimming so I can play along with everyone in the challenge. I'll definitely end up walk/running more than swimming this month. I have a couple of 5k races coming up in the next 3 months and I hope to shave some time off from the Turkey Trot I did a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure I'll get to the gym tonight after work. There is discussion of having an impromptu happy hour in honor of the 2 friends who were killed in a car accident yesterday. So, I may just take today as a rest day. Hope everyone has a great day!! |

I love that feeling of soreness that lets you know you are doing something right - I can also relate to trying to think about so many things - I feel the same way when I cycle, well and run for that matter keep up the great work! |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Rebellious Reindeer First Master this afternoon...hoping I feel okay as I'm a little nervous as my swimming sucks and I don't know if I'll know anyone there other than coaches. I just want to improve this off season and this is part of my checking in with my swim coaches weekly even though it is a 60 mile round trip drive. I looked up Xterra World results my swim coach Candy placed 5th for pro women..she is a pro Xterra triathlete..how cool is that? |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Rebellious Reindeer Morning Reindeers wow, ALL of the threads were really quiet yesterday and last night - I guess all the time I have a pretty big swim on deck today - lots of drills, it's supposed to take 1 hr 10 min, but I'll be very surprised if I can swim it that fast Have a nice rest day Pam Be sure to let us know about your master's swim Kathy - that sounds really cool |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Rebellious Reindeer Masters with coach Andy (Candy's husband he is a pro Xterra triathlete too)...had my own lane worked on on side with rotation on 10-8-6-2 kicks and then just swimming. #1 thing I need to work on is driving hand down and not stopping movement forward and this is the key to swimming well. He explained in goes in straight then goes down more..my elbow knobs (things on outside of elbow when you bend it) should be out to the side of the pool. He said this is #1 thing all the other things like high elbow and such are extra when you get that. A cool suggestion he had was to watch others underwater and you can see those who do it right and those who don't. He said he needs to figure out how to explain it to me so I get it and once I get it things will improve quickly. Need to work on not moving head so much when breathing as moving head makes other parts of me move. All week I had been drilling and not swimming much and he could tell. Need to always swim so it transfers...some folks are great at drilling but it doesn't help their swimming. I don't think I've ever swam as much in a week as I have this week....great time for a swim challenge Be happy Reindeer and have a great Sunday Rest day for me tomorrow..I'm tired and looking forward to it.
