Stoked, and definitely tapered.

I'm going to go on record and say I'm going sub 5:30. My last time a SM I did 6:56:21 (1st place clyde).  I'm tempted to try to gain 25 pounds in the next 2 weeks because I think I can go close to 6:00 at 200

Went 7:29:45 in 2008...goal this year is 6:15:00, with outside chance of sub 6hrs...we'll see how 2 yrs of IM training has paid off.  And yes, Kyle, pain will also be in my future as well.

yeah, I don't think this race is going to help my USAT rankings very much, but that's not why I am doing it.

Yeah, but if you nail it with EM and LP you'll go AA.

My wife has convinced me to race age group and not gain the 25 pounds (something about not touching it if she has to lift anything out of the way), so it should be a fair fight.  So I'll actually be the bigger-than-most guy racing against the 140 pounders on SM climbs.  SM is one race where being small framed really does pay off.

Good call!

Josh for what it's worth.  I am no light rider.  Last year I raced SM around 172lbs, this year I suppose it will be the same.

I hope to finish in the top 50 with that field, then I’ll be happy.

All of this, of course, assuming he doesn't flat twice during the ride.

I predict 2MoreMiles wins the Clyde class with a time of 6:18.

I predict my time to be a bit closer to 7.5 hours but I still think there will be 1 or 2 people slower than me or DNF.

That's just a low blow man... I almost crashed on that second flat.  And it cost me a $13 latex tube (and cost you a CO2 cartridge).  Hopefully Kyle's sweepers will get all the staples off the road...

By the way - did you order your new cassette yet?
