ONE more long week then taper!!!  I need to start making a packing list.  Anyone have a good starting list?

How did Miami go? I've heard some bad things. I hope it wasn't too bad.

I've got a 6 hour ride on Sunday, but after that it's pretty much taper time. If it were me, I wouldn't do a 100 miler 3 weeks before the race.  I'm just not sure that my body would truly recover to the point needed for race day.  Keep in mind, I'm no coach and I havent' even done a full IM yet. 

The Ironman Cozumel site recommends against shipping your bike.  I also believe you have to pay import tax AND it could get held in customs.  Maybe someone else could confirm that.

Next weekend is still somewhat of a long training weekend with a 4 hour bike and 2 hour run planned.  I missed my long ride by 45 minutes because I forgot it was daylight savings and ran out of light.  I have to figure out a packing list now.  It is almost here

I had a great time spectating down at Ironman Florida this weekend! I also got my last big training weekend in down there. I rode most of the bike course on Friday (108 miles) and ran 20 miles on Saturday. Now it's time to taper!

It was motivating to train in that environment! Plus it was a fun watching everyone race down there.

It is so much easier to communicate when people can understand what I mean rather than what I actually say   Yeah - I meant 2 weeks.

Anyway, has anyone recieved any type of race kit with information on when to be where, etc?  This is my first IM event, and in most of the big marathons and triathlons I've done, you get some sort of information prior.  Guess I'm expecting a lot for my 600 bucks

It's my first IM too and I was looking for a printable athlete guide on the website. But, I was not able to find one. All of the information is on the website, but nothing to print. I guess I will copy and paste into my own document to keep organized.

My wife usually does all of the races with me. She is the race planner. I am on my own this time! She is just enjoying the vacation!

Thanks for the information on bike shipping.  I am finding out today that this will be a bad idea.  I have a Serfas bike case that I will use instead.  I just hope to find a taxi that will be able to handle it.  Thanks again. 

Hey everyone. I just got done with IMFL so my time has been taken up over in that forum and in my brain, but now it's time to focus on COZ. Taking this week easy then next week I'll just have to get what I can in without burning out. COZ should be interesting but a whole lot of fun. I get in Friday to Cancun then have to take the bus/ferry to Cozumel. Any plans for meet-ups Friday evening or Saturday. I didn't get the chance to meet anyone at FL because of a crazy tight schedule I had. I'm staying at the Hotel Boutique Vista Del Mar.
