I've been down with a cold for the last two days.  I feel a little better today than yesterday so hopefully I can get back on track tomorrow.  Thinking I might go to spin class at 8 then a short run afterwards.  Maybe a swim before spin, make it a little mini indo tri day.  OR I might just do a 6-7 mile run.  One of the next two days I'll throw in a good run.  So what I'm saying is, I don't really know what I'll be doing this weekend except that it will be related to s/b/r.  This is the life of the random trainer Laughing

I'm going for a recovery weekend and cut my training in half.  My knees have been sore this week and they need a break.  So, a hour bike ride Saturday, 30 minute recovery run Sunday, and some mountain biking fun with the boy.

metcalf34 - 2012-02-03 6:46 AM What does everyone have going on this weekend?
No races for me. A long training run with friends tomorrow morning. Then maybe a bike ride and a swim!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am running "The Color Run" tomorrow morning.  Check out the website, it is a 5k where everyone wears white and gets brightly colored dust thrown on them every kilometer.  Should be colorful to say the least

Then a bike ride on Sunday.

Have a great weekend all!!!

Its been a snow weekend here. Took the dog for a walk in all the snow. The Knee is still sore, but Doc says its probably just a sprain. So Ice, wrap, elevate.  Of course Super Bowl Party.

glad last week went good.  I broke a tooth this weekend and start the week in the dentist office.    I don't even have a good story for it.

Sorry to hear that. Injuries without a good story are the worst.

So how was everyone weekend?

I decided to finally get my bike on the road, but my foolish self has flat tires (from not using the bike in ever) and no pump. And I wasn't sure if the pump at the gas station worked and the local bike shop was closed. Needless to say I am now the proud owner of an air pump.

But I got my run in.  I'm excited I have a 5k on Saturday and its been a while since I ran a shorter distance so I plan to push it! I'm going for my faster slow!

I also had the chance to talk to some recent Ironmen finishers and it made me realize that regular people are completing these events so even regular ole me can do it too!

It turned into a muddy color run, we had a couple of inches of rain the night before, it was a great time!!!

Thank you for the concern.  Verdict was I have to have it pulled tomorrow am.   It cracked where I had an old filling.    Pain is way down now.

Weekend was still great.  I ran my fastest 2 mile in a 20 mph wind.  12:50.  1st mile 6:10 2nd 6:40.

Keep up the training, the season is coming soon.

triathlon math

One tooth pulled = 2 ounces

2 ounces = 2 second per mile on a run and 16 seconds on a bike.    Ultimately by this math I should be 1 minute faster on a sprint tri.   If I have all my teeth pulled I should be about 7 minutes faster.

1 tooth 135 dollars.   20 teeth 2700.00   or one really cool new bike.   Can I argue that for a new bike to my wife.

Back in the pool after 4 months off.  Doing 100's in the 1:35 range, not bad.  Will ramp up the workout over the next 8 weeks.

1:35 is very a very solid 100.   Great job i want to see where you get when you swim for a while.
