Hi everyone!

I need to hook up some compression socks as well. My problem is that they have to have something awesome on them---for instance, right now, my racing socks have lizards on them--matches the tatt--you might say 'lizards' are my racing kit! Anyway--if you all find some lizard compression stuff, let me know please! 

As for news: My osteology class is killing me, but the others seem to be okay right now. I haven't heard from Seattle yet (Boo. ) --Salty, you wanna go talk some sense to that zoo for me? I'd appreciate it! Apart from that. I have the Down and Dirty mud run this weekend--all fun, no competition! Yay me! And today, I will hopefully finish my Halloween costume (still a surprise, but I'll post pics eventually...)

HA! I think it I reeeeaaaly think about it, Demi Moore in GI Jane is the REAL reason I ever wanted to get in shape. It's too bad I could never look that good with a shaved head or I'd do it!

I think I will be running as Robin in a 5K on Saturday. Maybe Van Halen should join me.

My OTHER costume could be considered offensive so ... I may not post pictures.

It's called the pineapple classic 5K. It's a local event, not a chain. You have to do the entire obstacle course with a pineapple in your arms.

Best part is there is an authentic Luau in a barn afterwards AND beer. Lots and lots of beer.

Of course! We haz enough Westie-types that there's Halloween here, plus it's getting commercialized all over the world anyway. My sister and I have always had a THING for Halloween ... it's one of our favourite holidays (okay, any holiday is our favourite, but Halloween especially).

However, I shall be in Jakarta, allowing myself to get into shenanigans with family members a.k.a. my nephews. I'm going back for some bureaucratic BS, for my dad's birthday, and to see if he has disowned me yet after I fled without a word last time.

I just recently got told by a group of people that I remind them of AP although I REALLY don't think so. Either way though, it may be a tiny little stretch but ... DESTINY???? I think so.

Jo -- sorry about your hubby. I'm glad he's getting the care he needs, and I hope his recovery goes quickly.

My calf is finally feeling better. I was pretty discouraged earlier this week. Ben and I went out last night for a 2mile run. My intention was to go very easy, and we did. We ended up with 2.4 miles at 11:30/minute pace. But it felt great. I think I'm going to run 2-4 miles at least through the weekend (no medium or long runs) to make sure I've got it back. Then I need to slowly build back up. I just pushed it too hard after the Coronado Heights run.

So, I've signed up for the Wichita 10 mile Turkey Trot on November 17. My mom will be here, and since she did the 2 mile last year, she wants to do it again. The One Hill After Another run is November 10, and I was hoping to run the 25k. That might not be possible. I could do the 15k (what I did last year), but it's 250 miles round trip. I kind of wanted to make the drive worth it. I really wanted to run the 25k.

Anyway, I haven't signed up for the Hill race yet -- last year I just paid that morning -- it's a very small, low key deal -- I think there were maybe 20 of us total, running four different distances (10k; 15k; 25k; 50k) It was just so much fun, and it is extremely hilly (small hills, but still). Last year I ended up walking the steeper hills, and I would do the same thing this year, if I do it.

I'm rambling. Sorry. Like Salty told me, I guess I just need to play it by ear. Tentatively train for the 25k on Nov 10, and if I wake up that morning and feel like I can't do it, I can just roll over and go back to sleep. lol

We're on Fall Breather today and tomorrow. I stayed up too late last night, and overslept this morning, but I managed to get the boys to school on time. An hour later, the nurse called me to come get Ben. Ben told me that since he left school, his class was down to 9 people. That's over 50 percent sick. Crazy.

However, I could see you as Amy Poehler, but it has more to do with the antics and attitude, not the looks.
