Seemed like a good idea when I signed up, but the weather forecast has changed drastically since I registered and now, instead of a start line temp of about 18-20 degrees we're looking at a start line 9am temp of 0. At least they have hot chocolate at the finish line. Be careful Andy, wet and cold is a really bad combo! |

Master 2238 Dallas | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Climbinggonzo - 2012-12-31 3:03 PM Ernesto, do you have any friends running at another pace that would like a personal pacer, yourself? That way you can get something out of the race by helping another to their goal, and then avoid the temptation to put yourself in a place where you may get injured. I was able to switch! I tried again and I finally got through. I am now gunning for a fast half. |

Expert 1255 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Happy New Year to everyone. Thanks Ernesto for all of your guidance over the past several seasons. Thanks to everyone else who put up with my silly questions. You only laughed at me a couple of times. And you even gave me some pretty good advice! Pleased to report my 2012 totals vs my 2011 totals. I swam almost 100 miles in 2012 (98.5 to be exact), but it wasn't enough. That is going to change in 2013. I also did my first HM and first HIM. In 8 weeks I'm going to do my first marathon. 2012 Bike 2113.77 mi 3401.78 km 2011 Bike 1572.5 mi Jackie

Congrats to Mitch on another consistant month of workouts. The foil medal ismall yours. yes, start the bike at a very easy pace and settle into a rhythm, once you're there start nutrition. This should be around mile 10 of the bike. Get to t2 with a half empty stomach, start the run very easy, let the body tell you what's right after mile 6 or so.Welcome to a new year everybody, hope you all had a good night and wish you all the best for the new year. Thanks to Ernesto also for putting up with us. Ernesto (others) - Any last minute advice for me for this weekends HIM? |

Master 1609 Gold Coast Australia. | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Well, the planned ride and run didn't happen. I couldn't drag my sleepy butt out the door and the usual 1st of Jan headache made the decision easy. Instead, replaced the cables on the bike, went to the pool with my daughter (no point for splashing around though) and later tested the bike. It was a very short spin just to see how the new shifter cables were working after replacement. And of course stretched it to get a point. Hope you're alive and well after the festivities. Veteran 487 Nova Scotia, Canada | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Here's the stats for 2012. Not bad considering that I only got off the couch in June, couldn't swim more that 25m without stopping, and hadn't ridden a bike in about 12 years.
Here's hoping I can at least double those numbers for 2013. Happy new year everyone! |
