14/24 with a 20 minute swim snuck in at 7:00 pm on Sunday. So I will take Dave's generous offer of no penalty this week! But to be fair, I also didn't give myself the planned reward.

Goals for next week:

-5 total workouts
-2 swims
-2 weekday morning workouts before work
-1 strength workout (often overlooked, gotta stop that)
-Look into what is needed to properly clean my bike regularly, and get my butt to the store to purchase it. I have not been taking care of my first ever bike and that needs to change soon.

I finally got back in the pool this week. Swam twice, first day I did an easy 1000m in 19mins, second was a good 1500 in 27mins. Feeling good that my swimming hasn't gotten too bad after a 5 year break. Did 3 rides on the trainer, 30mins and 2 at 45mins.
My running all of sudden came around this week, did an 8km at a good pace, and my longish run of 13km was 15sec/km faster than last week, with my HR 10bpm lower on average.

I'm about to head to the basement for a 90min spin on the trainer, and then have a short run later on.

Overall a great week, despite the snow and cold temps.

Heading to Puerto Rico next weekend for a holiday, can't wait to get some warm weather running and open water swimming in.

Hope everyone else has had a good week too.

Cheers
Terry

Nice work Kyle! There is nothing better than a PR!

Do us and yourselves two favors - 1) Fillout a race report (in the races section) so you can record your thoughts from the race. Before each race I read over my past reports from that distance to remind myself what I have learned in the past so I can have the best day possible. 2) Post a pick of the beer you drank to celebrate the PR. Hope you picked a good one!

I'm supposed to do 3 bikes - in exchange for a swim (1) due to the pool closure but I was able to get another swim in - so I'll take that in lieu of one of the bikes. Tomorrow I'll work to get one more bike and run in. Freezing rain the first half of the day kept me home from the gym - lots of sirens today so I didn't run on the roads. Sidewalks here - if you can find a plowed one, are slush and ice. Tomorrow I'll hit the trainer again and try for a run outside or maybe hit the gym. (Though I'd really love to swim) ??
Cheers!!

Jenn - way to battle through. Come down to MA. You can run on the sidewalks here as yesterdays weather was rain that washed away what little snow we have had. When you come down for your workout - you could bring me a Heady Topper... I'm thirsty!

Kate - knowing you - I'm sure it will be.

To the group - I just want to clarify about the Coors Light Penalty - it's only for when you truly goof up...

Blowing off a workout for no reason = CLP (warm)
Blowing off a workout when you a busy = your call on whether you have earned a CLP (it could be cold)
Missing a workout because you were kind and talking care of parents = good beer to reward yourself for putting first things first

Hey Dave,
There is a very real possibility I can do the NE Season Opener. I have a wedding to go to in MA on the 7th and I think hubby is staying behind with the kids due to a soccer tournament that same weekend. I'll check the logistics as we get closer and let you know for sure. I would be happy to bring some Heady!

Great race this morning: 25 km trail running in the mountains out of Madrid, 2 degrees celsius but beautiful sun!
The nutrition provided at mid race was no gels or energy bars but real ham, manchego cheese, fruits and coke or beer, niiiice.....
Now my whole body aches... this was the kick off for the 2016 season. Feb 1 start HIM training.
Have a great Sunday!

Sunday is my rest day, but yesterday was my long run (#25), followed by a trade ner ride (#26), and then capped off with a nice yoga session (#27). It has been a while since I spent half a Saturday training and it felt GREAT!!

Today, though, I can feel it in my legs and I'm sure glad today is my rest day.

Last week's goals
1.) yoga 3x--done
2.) track food everyday--done
3.) 4 runs, 3 swims, 3 bikes--done

No CLP for me!

It is the first week of classes, so I'm not sure of my time this week. It always seems that nothing goes smoothly during the first week! So, I'm setting my goals a little lower than last week.
1.) track food every day
2.) yoga 3x

Workout report! 2 hours on the drainer pushed me to the max of BOREDOM! But I went hard for the second half and really pushed the last 10 minutes. My wife has made some better than sex chex mix and I intend to see if the name is in fact true. Also intend to reward myself with a 2 hearted ale.

Workouts - I did my fourth workout of the week today. It was a run to test out the knee. It seemed ok, but I didn't push it too much. I did try the indoor track. WAY too much counting since it's a 1/10 mile track. I think I'll stick with the treadmill.

As for the diet, I wasn't as good as I wanted over the weekend. Back to the grind tomorrow.

16/24 so far (17 if I count scraping popcorn).

The week rounded out well - 3 runs, 2 swims, 2 bikes and a lifting session in there. PT was sporadic again - don't know what my deal is with this. I am trying to do it from memory (can't find my printouts - will call the PT and have him email them to me).
I'm going to see if we have a Schlitz in the fridge - that should work for both CLP's I've suffered for my poor PT performance.

Big push on the house project this week - lots of painting coming in a hurry starting mid-week. I also start teaching class tomorrow. For this week I will say I'd like to get 6 workouts in. With my crazy schedule I will be very happy with that. I would LOVE to be in the pool everyday but that won't happen until I don't have to babysit workmen at my house....so close to being done I can almost smell the new carpet..

6 unspecified workouts - crazy schedule so I'm leaving this a little loose this week
PT 4 times - clearly 5 had discouraged me so I need to kick this.
