Heya guys...you all are rocking...can't believe how much some of you have accomplished already.

I'm right on track:

Walk/Run: 5.93 miles (20% done)
Swim: 1 hour 56 seconds (20% done)
Weights: 53 minutes (30% done)

Yesterday I upped the run to a whopping 4 minutes...managed to do 3 of that in one shot...probably would have pushed for the full 4 but it was so danged cold and my throat was getting sore so decided to not push it. Hopefully tomorrow I can give it a shot...it not then this weekend.

Today's swim was a vast improvement on Sunday's first swim in a few years...did the same length and basically took the same time to complete the 1100 yards. But I did it all in 50 yard intervals (last time was almost all 25 yard intervals) and even finished up with 2 intervals of 75 yards...and I was in the pool about 25 minutes less so my breaks were alot less than Sunday....we'll see if I can improve again on Friday but it might be hard after all these harder workouts...we'll see.

And did I mention I've lost 10.5 pounds in 3 weeks? Which, seeing as how week 2 I totally went off program and gained a few pounds, is quite good. Gotta be all the exercise because I'm not always eating well.

Definitely getting the exercise bug and having these goals for the challenge is such great motivation. Helps me to get out of bed or get to the pool when I'd rather go home and sleep.

Keep it up Hippos!!

AWESOME swim!! and WAY AWESOME weight loss!! (I'm jealous!! i'm supposed to be losing 10 this month, and i'm only down like 2 so far!!)
great job!! this team is so totally rocking!!

ok, all caught up finally.
so i ran. i was getting tired, and i think burned out on my regular run, and i was WAY starting to lose motivation. so today i ran a mile and a half to warm up (gosh i never thought those would be words i would say!! ) then i found this nice flat block (rare in my neighborhood) that was maybe 1/8 mile long. and i sprinted it. one way/rest other way/rest. three times. and it was FUN!! it made me remember being a kid, and running all out for whatever reason, because i was a kid and i COULD you know?? i FORGOT how much FUN running is!! it made me so incredibly happy!! anyway, i guess my distance was around 2.5 for the day, and of course i forgot to STOP my watch. so even now it's still running, and is at 44:31 i think when i came in the house it was around 20?? i can't remember. dangit.
oh well.
so that was my run. it was fun--for once!!
great job hippos. i'm WAY glad you don't all think i'm a loony toon for asking for pix. it's motivational for me. that's all.
yaay hippos.

New runner teammate coming onto your team!

Vida Nova is brand new to BT. He's set a run goal of 40 miles this month. (10 miles target per week.)

He did 3.18 miles today!

He should show up in this thread soon.

Super Cat - attached is a new spreadsheet for you. You're up to 17 team members now, so if you need to draft an assistant captain, well, it's your team. Do as you see fit. LOL

Dee

Wow Lyssa, Ambulance driver and joe!  You guys are still streaking ahead!

I had a 1hour swim session this morning - Now I'm wrecked.  I actually came home and SLEPT.  (thank god I'm on Holidays)

If the weather finally clears I'll do a run this afternoon.  At least it won't be hot.

Yeah, the two of YOU do. The rest of your team, however, is on USA time. So I think your advantage has just been wiped out.

Here is an update for the day. I am definitely in the middle of a cold. Yucky! I was really going back and forth regarding going for a swim. I had to get some things done in town so I threw my workout bag in my truck.....just in case. Well, I got myself over to the pool and swam 1650 yards. It was a mediocre workout, but I am glad I got in the nice warm water. It was a little weird to swim at night at my pool. It is an outdoor pool that is heated with hot spring water. The lights are not great in the pool. I could barely see the line on the bottom of the deep end. Maybe I should swim more at night so I can get used to open water swims.

I hope everyone else had some good workouts today! I think I am still on track for the week. Hello to Vida Nova! Welcome to our little Hippo family!

The only time Ive been able to get it to work is when I can post the pic on the web first (like your BT album) and then paste the picture... but last time I tried it didnt work for me so I just posted the link to the picture!
